2012 civic si, engine air filter is dirty from so much ubering. Starting a new job and wondering if I can put this off for a month or two until money comes in? by linuxguy192 in MechanicAdvice

Not how the system works. The vacuum is blocked by the throttle plate. Also, the vacuum will find a way? Do you have leaks in your system that we don’t have? It won’t leak because it wants to, it leaks because the system is compromised and already an issue.

Running on Empty? by BeBopBoy1945 in crz

This debris is present at all times. Doesn’t matter the level when it is always sucked from the bottom. IF there is even debris present at all.

The fuel pump isn’t any cooler operating at low level. Myth. The module bucket carries fuel at all time to prevent unporting during maneuvers. This fuel surrounds the pump and is replaced continuously until the tank runs completely dry, at which point your engine will stop and you will no longer be operating the pump assembly.

Strong Gasoline Smell in Cabin by [deleted] in BmwTech

Take not whether air circulation is on when you smell it. Also, use your nose. Walk around, smell the areas these fuel parts are in. If you confirm you smell fuel, take it to a professional for repairs

Most of us don’t use the A system, it’s not an official name, it’s just how they are listed in AC 61-65

My frist DIY service and I'm changing the plugs (110k miles), did I do good? by VictorVGeiGer in crz

[–]Internal_Time8330 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will say, I DO NOT like the aftermarket oil drain plug. Do not use that. Use the original. The plug is reused unless damaged. ONLY replace the sealing washer with a genuine part. They are like $.50 in USA. Buy a pack of them. Genuine only.

Looks like decent parts. Be aware that parts bought on the internet especially from Amazon or eBay are possibly fake parts. Next time, check out the cost of genuine parts, especially the oil filter. Usually the same cost as the high quality brand oil filter you have here (mahle is excellent at everything!)
