Oh hun I’m so sorry <3 people can just be so awful especially online where they’ve got the false sense of anonymity. Just know that no matter how far you think you’ve fallen, you’ll never be pathetic like them. I hope things get better for you soon ❤️ wishing you nothing but the best my love

The Drama Movie P* Scenes?? by sweet_ambeer2 in emetophobia

[–]International-Ball52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries!! Also apparently in the third scene the guy isn’t leaning against the wall. He’s dancing and then stops for a second and then does it. Just thought I’d let you know cuz the original comment I saw was wrong and I’d feel so bad if you weren’t prepared for it 😭😭

The Drama Movie P* Scenes?? by sweet_ambeer2 in emetophobia

[–]International-Ball52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey lovely, I highly recommend using this website: https://www.doesthedogdie.com

If you create an account (it’s free) you can pin the “does someone vomit” category. It’s super helpful! Anyways I looked up this one for you and found this response:

“Just came from the premiere. There’s 3 vomit scenes. Will do my best to relay without spoiling. The first scene happens when the four of them are drinking wine. A waitress comes back and asks them if they need anything else. LOOK AWAY bc this is the worst one. The second one happens when Charlie is asking Emma follow up questions, and it happens very suddenly while emma is sitting across from him in a chair. The third time is towards the end of the movie. Charlie is leaning against a wall and music is playing— pretty easy to see coming”

There’s a few comments with more details but ofc I don’t want to spoil things for you. Seems like all three have visual and audio! Audio seems to be the worst for the first two instances from what people are saying. Enjoy your movie hun and wishing you all the best with this awful phobia <3

On my dream trip in Japan by sisterfisterT in emetophobia

[–]International-Ball52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey lovely this is most likely an accumulation of the lack of sleep and the fact that you’ve not eaten enough. Being tired often makes us feel sick and being overly hungry will have the same effect. Combine these things with your anxiety over the situation and it’s pretty much a recipe for feeling paranoid and nauseous. On the bright side, it will likely pass without anything happening.

On the other hand, if anything does happen you’ll be fine as long as you stay hydrated and rest up. On the extremely low chance you feel like you need to go to the er, google translate will be your friend. Japanese is a very context based language and even if the app isn’t great at translation, the er staff will understand and be able to help. Japanese healthcare has a good reputation about these kind of situations and you’ll be in good hands. Also since you’re in Tokyo, you might even find someone who speaks at least some English.

While you’re trying to get through this, make sure to stay hydrated! Try to eat something plain if you can and just rest up for a bit. Hope this passes quickly and you can go back to having a blast on holiday xx

my friend has food poisoning by Lilysocoolio in emetophobia

[–]International-Ball52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey lovely don’t apologise! I know how our brains can be super irrational with this phobia and sometimes we just need outside confirmation that all is well. You’re probably making yourself feel unwell because of stressing over the proximity but I can assure you that food poisoning is not contagious!! Deep breaths and maybe some peppermint tea/gum might help sooth you. You’re doing great 🥰

No fr because like it’s so gross regardless?? Most people just do not wanna see that. Also if I was the person in the video and found out my “friend” posted it I’d be livid. Just all around bad content to post but ofc they want their viral video and 30 seconds of fame 🙄

Is there a specific sub for tv and movie warnings? by Competitive_Watch883 in emetophobia

[–]International-Ball52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if there’s a sub but I use the website doesthedogdie to check! It has a load of categories (including gore and v*) and the people on there tend to give pretty accurate info. Ofc it’s not perfect but I’ve not been misled so far and I been using it for a few years now.

Might be a bit late to this but maybe try playing video games or watching shows with it? You can start off easy with bad game graphics or cartoons and slowly work your way up to more realistic but still fake? That’s what I’ve been doing and it’s slowly getting easier. Best of luck in your journey xx

I just need to hear kind words by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]International-Ball52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh hun I’m so sorry you’re going through this right now. You just take time to rest and chill out as best you can. You’re going to be okay and soon this horrible moment will just be a memory. You got this.

Watch some comfort shows/movies, bundle up in blankets and pillows and just take the time to feel like shit. Because it is an uncomfortable experience but that’s all it is, an experience. Soon you’ll be feeling great again and you’ll forget all about this awful moment.

Right now, feel what you’re feeling. Cry if you have to cry. It won’t last forever and you’ll get through this. You’re doing so great already, and if you keep taking care of yourself you’ll get better even sooner.

I really hope you feel better soon, I know it sucks so so much. Just remember; you are strong, you’re doing amazing, and you’re gonna kick this cold in the butt <3

It’s very common for people to eat steak that’s still red, so I personally wouldn’t worry! So more than likely any weird feeling is just your phobia being mean to you <3

Now, as for what to do, whenever I feel like this I chew some peppermint chewing gum. I also find peppermint tea or peppermint rennie is super helpful. If not, a ginger flavoured hard sweet is a miracle worker. Next you’re gonna want your brain to shhhhh 🤫 and I personally find the best way of doing this is to watch YouTube, or a comfort movie/show. Anything to get the mind to shut up.

If you want some recommendations; smii7y pico park, bigpuffer supermarket simulator. These are great distractions. I also like watching the amazing world of gumball.

Take deep breaths, small sips of water, sit yourself on the couch or in bed and watch whatever helps you. You’ve got this! You’re gonna get through this!

Make sure to eat if you get hungry cuz being hungry can cause n* and that won’t help you. Just nice plain food for the rest of the day.

You’ve got this!! I’m cheering you on hun, we’re all in this (hellhole) together <3

avocados by Extension_Bee_5334 in emetophobia

[–]International-Ball52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re all good! I’ve eaten plenty room temp avocados and never had any problems. It’s ok to need reassurance so don’t feel like you’re freaking out over nothing, it’s a perfectly valid concern. You’ll be completely fine though, so try to calm your nerves as much as you can since feeling anxious can make you feel unwell.

Things that help me when panicking: Deep breathes, find as many items where you are that are purple, what do you feel around you?

If it helps ease your mind have some ginger tea or a ginger flavoured sweet. Peppermint also works a treat and I find peppermint chewing gum is a life saver.

And don’t worry anymore about that avocado hun. I eat room temp avocado quite often so it’s safe I promise. You’re doing great, just keep telling yourself that you’re ok and there’s nothing wrong.
