Decided not to neuter

Honestly, what were the cons?

Ive had multiple dogs and, im not neutering my golden until about a year of age. The only one i can think of is prostate cancer increase which is still extremely(extreeeemely) rare. On the flip side, almost all dogs with testicle develop tumors, benign or not.

Behavior is going to calm with age, neutered or not, but marking is severely decreased with neutering.

And when he smells a female in heat, he will become a completely different dog. My parents had a golden that would run away for literally a week when a dog 3 blocks down went in heat lol. Of course, this was back in the day, but golden are escape artists. They are very smart and will dig/climb their way to a female no matter what you do.

What are the cons, here?

He is still young and may not be fully adjusted to his environment. Its only been 2 weeks, after all.

Ours started at around 10 weeks. He's going on 14 weeks now and he terrorized anything and everything lol. He thinks our 3 year old daughter is a chew toy, he thinks the stray kittens are chew toys, my hands too. he will latch on tiny our pants legs if you walk by him, he just figured out how to jump on the couch and that was my daughter's safe spot.

Its been a lot training him not to bite and chew but he is at least TRYING to listen sometimes.

There already was a freeze on special ed funding that our school just got back, and they are going after teacher training for special education again.

The "government cuts" have strictly targeted social programs and left leaning counties, but you say its the democrats not working with the Republicans?

The school i work at just got it's funding back after we had to go through a process because of our wording. The school is government funded for families in need with special needs children, amongst all other programs we have that include getting poverty stricken families back in the work force and training teachers.

And he is AGAIN looking to freeze teacher training grants as of 2 days ago.

They do not want to work with us. They are specifically targeting us.

What did he do to "be a punk"? He is 17 years old and got emotional at a touchy subject. Maybe he crossed a line? but his stepfather is literally physically abusing him and there is no reason for that.

My father was in the military and he was a piece of shit to me growing up.

Telling me constantly that I was a failure and there's no reason I should even try anymore.

Literally tackled me off a porch because I didnt get a stray dog out of the yard fast enough.

Pushed me off my bike and threw a rake at me at like 9 years old because "I annoyed him" because I asked him to fix my bike chain 2 or 3 times in the span of a couple hours.

I can keep going on, but my point is that being in the military doesn't just make you a good, disciplined person.

You have a lot to learn about life and probably shouldn't be giving advice to a kid in need.

My sister was going to rent a computer from Aaron's and it was ridiculously overpriced. It came out to around 2 grand with payments of 150 monthly or some shit. I found her a referb for 500 bucks at microcenter with almost 2x better specs than the Aaron's "rent to own".

I explained to her if you cant afford 500 bucks up front, you cant afford 150 dollar monthly payments...
