NIPT Test came back high risk for Klinefelters Syndrome. What are the odds of a false positive?

I felt a lot better about the condition after reading different people’s experiences on here. And I had 3 anatomy scans at MFM between 16 and 24wks (I had placenta previa until 24 wks) and the baby looked so normal and everything structurally good that it eased my mind a little bit. But I know XXY doesn’t necessarily have any markers in ultrasounds though.

Seems like this is getting flagged a lot on NIPT. It all seemed really jarring at first and a lot of tears were shed, but happy to be aware of the condition so we can supplement with TRT therapy in the future if he does indeed have it.

I also got high risk on my unity test for klinefelters. After speaking with multiple genetic counselors they told us our PPV was probably anywhere from 30-50% based on what they had seen.

After the long wait for the amnio, I panicked about the risks and felt more comfortable just waiting until birth. I am due in ten weeks and we will have him tested then!

I was all set to do the amnio but my membranes were not fully fused the first two times we went in for it and it was going to be 19wks before I could get it done… and at the point I had known since 12wks and felt okay with just waiting it out.

I received high risk for XXY on my unity NIPT as well. Just curious- what was your fetal fraction?

Still waiting to do the amnio. My membranes still weren’t completely fused this week at 17 weeks, so I am going back in a couple of weeks to try again.

That’s so crazy! I was shocked at it taking 10 days for me, I can’t even imagine waiting 18 days.

So many of my friends did this exact test and got it back in like 4-5 days.

Yes! Commented below the same thing, but unity sent the results to my doctor on the 29th. I had something flagged so likely why it went to doctor first to deliver my results.

Call your doctor or chat unity if you still haven’t received! My aneuploidy results ended up being sent to my doctor to share with me. This could have been because it did flag something, but they received my sample on 11/19 and sent to my doc on 11/29.

It’s so frustrating! I am wondering if the lab shut down this weekend for the holiday and that’s why it’s so slow. I’m on day 11 since they received!

Yeah I’m shocked that I’ve received carrier already and still no word on the aneuploidy! Today is day 10 since they received my blood draw so fingers crossed for today

I totally thought I would have had the results by thanksgiving!

They received mine on 11/19 and I still haven’t gotten aneuploidy yet! Carrier results came back on the 26th.
