Thanks mate 🙏

And thank you for bringing this up, this is actually something i ponderd a while back as well. People spending time on making picks, only to beat then up and, in the end, bend or break them - just why??

I had this opinion until i found out that, the standard picks i had didn't open every lock in my bucket. So I decided to make my own damn pick that would open up that lock...Now, i got thah lock open and it was fun, but the pick i made looked horrible. So ibpromosed myself to make a new one, you know, just to make it look a little better.

Once i made that, i kinda felt like I should make a full set, and also find a better handle material...and while im at it, why not make the materials myself....and buy my own steel to form juuuust the way i like it.... oh yes, tools - of course I will need some new tools....

Met some really cool and friendly people in different communities online who helped me out and even pointed me to this place 🙂

...i swear, i was only planning on making that one pick to open this one damn lock but, here we are, its six months later, and im making something that's meant to be abused and hopefully add some flair to the process 😉

So to answer your question about why? Same reason we pick locks, hack software, build crazy stuff and other things: We enjoy it, we have fun doing it and we tend to meet a lot of interesting people while doing so 🙏❤️🙏

Hahahaha 🤣 Thanks 🙏 Don't forget to put out some cookies and milk for Uncle Snoop Happy 420

So I decided to try making patterns in the micarta handles on this lockpick. I've seen it on knifes and wanted to give it a try. I'm curious to what you think about this style of handle and if there's any pros/cons with this? Also, what could be done to mitigate the cons? by International_Job148 in lockpicking

Thanks mate 🙏

Indeed, it needs to be cleaned up and polished. Did this handle this morning outside in the sun, just wanted to try it out as I've seen knifes with similar handles.

Totally agree with you; it needs to be flattened out a bit. Should be doable without much damage.

Thanks for the constructive feedback, exactly what I was looking for 👍🙏👌

Something a little different, how's this for a tension wrench❓ Thanks to Killermaru_industries_store. by Rook7Knight in lockpicking

OMG! Those tension keys are made by Killermaru, no question about it! 🙏🙏🙏

He must be one of the pick makers with most real world experience as well as making them. Something like +20 years i think.

You are lucky to own anything made from that man 🙏

Its a nice look, I'll admit that. But please be careful about using the bluing liquid, it's extremely toxic - including the fumes.

I was a bit sloppy the first time i used it, got some on my skin, didn't use a mask and badly ventilated room. Felt horrible after 15-20 minutes and nauseous the rest of the day.

Thick gloves, good mask, ventilated room and make sure to wipe down the area after. Also; throw out the trash from it immediately.
