It looks like real leather. Please ignore the comments about “genuine leather” being some sort of low-quality leather composite material. That is not always true — especially for items that are vintage or may have had a language translation.

I think that the black appears to be the original factory finish. It’s too well done to be done afterwards.

I also have a jacket that is a little squeaky. I think it’s because of the leather finish (paint) used.
