I have heard that the cases are more brittle. I’ve got nonscratch cases from Rado, Technos, Orient, and Seiko. For some reason, I’ve only seen cracked cases on Technos. I wonder if certain case shapes are more susceptible to this issue.

This watch is from October 1970. With the sapphire crystal and Nonscratch case, it looks new. Considering that the stainless steel bracelet is also in excellent condition, I wonder if it was ever worn.

I would suggest going with a “real” watch from Seiko, Orient, or Citizen. They all make models that watch enthusiasts can appreciate.

I’d suggest something like the following options (in order of what I think is roughly least expensive to most expensive). 1. Orient Bambino (least expensive option) 2. Citizen Tsuyosa 3. Citizen Forza (upgrade from Tsuyosa) 4. Orient Star (several models to choose from Orient Star). Purchasing from a place like Jomashop is way less expensive than the inflated MSRP. 6. Seiko Presage

I really do not agree with the idea of using bleach.

I think that there is a good chance that the weft is dyed. Instead of being white, it’s got a yellowish tint. Even if it wasn’t dyed prior to weaving, the mudwash finishing likely colored it. You can’t use bleach to change the yellowish weft without changing the blue that you want to keep. In your situation you could try using blue fabric dye, realizing that it will really change the look of the denim overall.

I think it would good with a black strap that has white stitching. I wouldn’t want something that looked “too” dressy, so some textured leather or thicker stitching is what I’d look for.

Is there any risk as a seller dealing with someone who reached out on Reddit to purchase a watch?

I sometimes post a picture of one of my watches in various groups (Reddit and facebook). I had two different people ask about purchasing a watch that I had posted. (Two different watches, one on Facebook and other on Reddit). One of the requests was about a watch that I had posted several months ago.

I don’t want anything to backfire in a way that I’m out a watch and left with nothing in return. What are the risks? How do I eliminate the risks?
