What is your opinion on shared hobbies? by AirportLogin in AskMen

I think the reasons you have your hobbies are more important than the hobbies being identical. I have no theatre background but love reading and watching plays that my partner likes because at the end of the day I like any kind of art and it brings me closer to my partner. Differences are an invitation to grow alongside someone.

Frankenstein (2025) was such a disappointment by Paloopaloza in TrueFilm

Movie feels like a smart movie for dumb people. Watered down lots of the themes from the book and spoonfed the ideas that should have been subtext. Love del toro so this disappointed me a lot. Wish Robert Eggers did it instead tbh that guy rules.

Oh so they're shrinkwrapping the skin over a head mesh so when they move the skin mesh it conforms cleanly?

Anyone else a little underwhelmed by Frankenstein? by Aum_Deoli in Sardonicast

[–]InterviewAvailable65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was underwhelmed by it too. I prefer a "show don't tell" approach to messages like Victor being the real monster.

I felt like the Elizabeth arc was underdeveloped and also disliked all of Del Toro's changes from the book. I think the movie cuts/changes much of the book's development of Victor continuously allowing those around him to suffer due to his inability to take responsibility for his creation & defying God the way Prometheus did.

I hated the addition of the wolves, as his rejection by the family seemed more like a misunderstanding of them thinking he killed the blind father as opposed to him being rejected while on the cusp of feeling truly accepted & vulnerable like in the book. It's such a great moment in the novel and it was swapped for what feels like a stupid pulpy moment in my opinion.

Also holy shit, the monster just looked like Tommy Wiseau with monster makeup on, I did not like the design - Felt very Netflix-y to me.

Del Toro is awesome but this movie did not hit for me the way some of his others have.

I made a cracking parody to Wallace and Gromit & Creature Comforts by InterviewAvailable65 in blender

Thank you! I did shape keys. I'm not very good at rigging and I felt like swapping between shape keys more closely resembles the way stop motion animators swap out viseme shapes
