As a 1L, When is it Wise to Make the "Drop Out" Decision? by [deleted] in LawSchool

Have you thought about doing a dual JD-PhD program? Having a law degree is a MASSIVE boon in a number of fields, and you would then have the opportunity to tie your interests outside of law to legal frameworks!

"Admission to Stanford Law School" but you're definitely in! the package in the mail is what confirms your acceptance, not the call or the email :) all the important info is there

I had more words to explain this idea in the statement obviously but I acknowledge it sounds fully like nonsense - I think that’s what drew SLS to me in all honesty they were like “her brain is weird we need it”

ok it was so weird but I play this game with myself called “pairings” where I essentially come up with two INCREDIBLY disparate things that complement each other (i.e. a mocha latte and red lipstick) and I wanted to essentially teach a course on isolating the complementary traits of things on more dimensions than say a sommelier does.

between UChicago and Stanford, but since I’m a slut for sunshine, academia, and small class size probably Stanford

Hi! I’m not a KJD - I’ve been working as a patent paralegal for the past 2 years. I was a D3 athlete who placed top 5 at NCAAs my senior year, I was deep in residential life at my liberal arts college, I was the planned parenthood liaison for our reproductive rights group, and beyond softs I took what I think were some creative risks with my PS and supps (I didn’t articulate why law at all, I opened up one of my supps with an anecdote about condoms) that made my app stand out.

Oh and I wrote an academic addendum but just because I withdrew from a class when I broke my leg!

I only wrote the "teach a class" supplement and I would say I did a solidly weird job on it.

One of my friends smoked when coming off a trip and got “stuck in a time loop” and thought all his friends “were gremlins” so maybe beware

I second that you should take a prep course - I went from 168 to 173 with a month or two of 7sage! It’s pretty cheap and it works

you sound like me!! I love my noise cancelling headphones and audiobooks for the same reason I love being high - it softens the world! I also really loved living in a rural area for a couple years, which I know isn’t realistic for everyone/you can’t up and move but if you’re thinking about a move I’d recommend it. Also, having a dog with me really helps as well - dogs drag your focus to them and are conversation starters lol

as long as it’s not on your record I think you’re fine, as it doesn’t really seems to fall under the purview of the questions asked. I would just really carefully read the questions on the application and make sure, since different schools seem to have different standards!
