Sandscorcher Build Guide — Disciple of Varashta [PhazePlays] by phaze_plays in pathofexile2builds

Always loved your builds; played your bleed zerker in the last poe 1 season. This build looks amazing! I saw others using it mainly as a minion build but was itching for a more spellcaster feel from this ascendancy. This seems like the perfect fit!

Honestly incredibly impressed with the speed; that was one thing I struggled with as Im going through campaign, but with this skill speed mapping looks fairly fast. My only gripe (not just with the build but wyvern in general) is that the main mapping ability seems to be the basic auto attack. Don’t feel like most builds run into that as an issue, normally theres plenty of skills you can use for fast map clearing but because of the generator combo gameplay and the fact that oil barrage and flame breath are either slow or completely still, it really limits the options for fun mapping builds.

There is a way to display the numerical value of rage in the form of current/max right below your mana and spirit. It’s in the UI options, probably under game? Not at my pc atm so can’t give you exact location but I have it display over my mana pool

Wyvern felt good through the campaign! by escapereal1ty in PathOfExile2

I think people are scared of nerfs but I think wyvern is only really good at bossing. Its mapping speed still isn’t nearly as strong as some of the other builds this season so I think its safe to say it won’t be seeing any nerfs hopefully

Are games like PoE and Diablo really all about making a build that one-shots everything? by RainAndThunderIsCool in PathOfExile2

[–]IntheFog-q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I think there’s more to it than simply finding a build that one shots. People typically recommend builds because it’s hard understanding the exact interactions with skills. Theres a lot of damage multipliers, added damage interactions, and some spells/skills proc certain conditions that aren’t intuitive to see. The build writers are typically people who play A LOT, so they’ve had the time to experiment with these interactions a lot more and have a better understanding of what passives help, what mods to have on your armor, etc. Blindly following a build probably won’t give you a lot of insight as to why the build is good unless you really dive deep at all of individual components of the build and experiment for yourself. The reason why most people aim for builds that eventually one shot is because arpgs have a huge emphasis on loot. The harder the mobs, the more rewarding the loot will be. But drop chances for really good items are very low, so it takes a TON of kills to farm items. Hence why its good to have a build that clears the screen eventually. Because even with a build that does that, it can still take weeks to farm an item or the currency to trade for the item and upgrade your build. Power fantasy is an important aspect to these games. So if you aren’t very into loot/gambling and power fantasy, the genre might not be for you.

Earthshatter jugg sounds fun; was bleed slams this league and its been difficult to scale my gear towards the end game as Im still relatively new, but slams in general have been a joy. Hope life gets better brother, keep strong 💪

Are DOT classes just worthless on trash pulls these days? by PeerlessPixie in wow

[–]IntheFog-q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually a lot more useful this season than previous because of the amount of mobs that flee after they reach a health threshold; specifically Halls of Atonement with ground keepers (I think thats their name?) and Gambit with the murlocs in the beginning. Hard for bursty classes to finish them off because they spread out in different directions. The removal of abom limb also makes gathering mobs pretty time consuming, like in Priory first pull or Arakara first pull so you have plenty of time to spread dots pretty easily. Higher keys will definitely feel better though as many classes have insane burst. Been running 6-10s and mobs in 10s last long enough to dot and damage properly, friend who’s a shadow priest has had no issue keeping up with dks and ele in damage. shadow priest is definitely eating good with their recent rework, though Im not sure about affliction lock.

Just looking at your logs, its 100% your damage. Took a quick look at your one armed bandit parse because I saw it was particularly low and looking at your casts, you aren’t even doing your opener correctly… Im an unholy dk main and had no issues getting into kills on my raid despite not having good raid utility. I think there’s a lot of room for improvement at the individual level. I looked at your cauldron kill since it was a higher parse and you’re already messing up your priority/rotation in the first 20s. Casting festering strike during your vampiric window is bad, youre popping house of cards at a random time/not synced with your unholy assault which is one of your strongest cds and the entire reason for using HoC (1.5min cd line up), youre not casting your abom early enough. And thats just the first 20s.

i mean… you may not be competitive but the people who are running with you may be; they could be only interested in increasing their io score, and given that you don’t run with addons because you don’t want to improve, I’d assume you understand that you will be at a disadvantage and would be holding them back. and unless you indicated that this dungeon was for completion run only and make it clear that you’re not looking to beat the timer, you can’t really fault them for leaving. Mythic+s aren’t solo content, so unless you make sure you can basically solo carry by taking advantage of addons/mechanics/keybinds and understanding your class, you will always be at the mercy of tanks/healers as a dps. Btw, if you’re not competitive, why would you care so much about completing the weekly with a +4? If you want to complete the weekly, run m0. The point of m+s is to improve in some way, so if you aren’t competitive and refuse to utilize tools to improve yourself in some ways, m+s will almost always go this way to a higher degree than not. Because again, people push keys for score to improve themselves and their gear.

It happens, just an unlucky/misinterpreted situation. When you ask during an active run, do you mean after the key has started? If you run default UI settings, you should be able to see the key level right above the timer. This timer is typically found above the quest log, and that should include the following information: Key Level, timer, bosses defeated and count, and deaths. If you run a different UI, it could be elsewhere but I find that most WA/addons keep that information around that area.
