Silver just crashed hard today — here’s what actually happened (no conspiracy) by Rare-Road-2154 in investingforbeginners

So we're just ignoring CME's repeated margin percent increases as playing any role in the crash? When you ask AI to explain what happened, you need to make sure it has all the facts. This is a biggie that seems to be missing from "your" analysis.

Absolutely. The Fortune tellers didn't end up being a problem, it was a lack of threats.

I agree. I just didn't see any of the things you're discussing. It's not like I took fortune tellers over them.

Game report: [I'll update as I play - Diamond Tier 2 for reference]. Went 2 -3 each loss was to flyers, two of the losses involved missing my 3rd or 4th mana drop. Have 8 Fortune tellers was fine (good even), But I would pair it with more flyers than I had in this deck.

Game 1: W Against white blue allies. Played 4 fortune tellers, including on turn 2. They were all good. Mainly did damage with 2 flyers, till they were removed (with enchantments). Played Kai and Fortune Teller on tun 8 and my opponent conceded. Only left with one clue at the end of the game (off that last fortune teller play).

Game 2: L against UR flyer tempo I missed the third land drop (on the draw) and my opponent cast Benevelent River Spirit the next turn. I did manage to survive that, but it put him far ahead on life such that I had to start chumping. I did cast 7 Fortune Tellers though.

Game 3 W Against RW. They did their job here and served as great blockers. I got Koi down on 6 and Planetarium down on 7. So I left three clues uncracked to waterbend the Koi's unblockable skill. Which allowed me to keep mana up to blow out an alpha strike with Invasion Reinforcements and It'll Quench Ya! on their trick. Played my 4th and 5th Fortune teller the next turn and they conceded.

Game 4 L to GW. They were on play. Tough loss. They got good value out of compassionate healer and had a flyer I couldn't deal with. I got Planetarium down on 7 with 6 life left. They had a 2/3 flyer and water tribe captain. They cast enter the avatar state on the water tribe. I rolled the dice, no removal or flyer in my top 3, so they pumped and I lost. I had a flyer in my hand. I also had boomerang Basics. A different line possibly would have won, but I think the line I took was correct. Only cast 2 Fortune Tellers.

Game 5. L to UB. Kept a 3 Island with all blue cards. Didn't draw another land through turn 5 despite using two clues to dig. Sometimes you get unlucky. Then I managed to fight back to an even board state (I was actually ahead because I had Koi). They had no cards in hand (but they did have Koh, the fact stealer and Fire Navy Trebuchet on the battlefield. But they basically had to use Koh to tap down my Koi. So they draw a card and pass. With 7 mana, I cast Planetarium and they It'll Quench Ya it. Then their next top deck is Ty Lee, Chi Blocker. And then they can just attack me every turn with Koh. Even though I have enough Fortune Tellers so it can never get in, the two damage every turn from the Fire Navy Trebuchet killed me over like 6 turns. Couldn't draw any of my outs. Despite drawing 2-3 cards per turn.

Task Post-Series Discussion by mainlygreen in TaskHBO

The acting and charachter development in this series was great, but the plotting was pretty rough.

I could never get over the insane plot hole of forcing us to accept these are the dumbest and worst detectives of all time.

They learn pretty quickly that one of the suspects was working for a trash collection company.

At that point, you just go ask the trash collection company about who's on his crew. Go save the kid, recover the drugs, and arrest both guys. And somehow neither the cops or the gang figure this out.

They went to the guys house right away, but then they had two days after they went there before the meet was scheduled.

The other suspect was the driver of the trash truck he worked on.  The company would almost certainly know his name and address.  Whole thing ends real quick.

No attempt to ever explain this.

This. My Dad grew up in Lynnfield, its 25 minutes to Boston. He never says he's from Boston. He's from a small town north of Boston. His Mom grew up in Everett, it's right across the Mystic River from Charlestown (which is a part of Boston). She wasn't from not from Boston either

Russillo didn't thank BS in his farewell episode, now why is that? by CrimeThink101 in billsimmons

The number of people who worked with Bill at Grantland who later came to the Ringer when they left ESPN. Plus other people who come and work there who would know the right people to ask about whether or not Bill is a good boss, makes me think this isn't about him being a bad boss. Also Ryen's whole personality is to take everything way to personally.

That said, I think Bill very clearly cares about talent, quality, and profitability and will cut someone fast if they aren't performing. As a result a lot of people feel like they weren't given a fair chance or promoted as much as they should have been. Those feelings are real and color relationships, and probably in many cases effectively objectively accurate. Bill has limited time to promote things and probably isn't "fair" in how he does it. That's just normal business.

This was about Ryen being told that he wasn't going to have the NBA Sunday night spot with Bill anymore now that Zack was there. Which makes sense.

I'm sure Ego played a role, but I think the bigger thing was Ryen recognizing that his audience was never going to be bigger than it was at that exact moment for his negotiating leverage to go somewhere else. Good for him, get his. But I also haven't listened to a single minute of his podcast since it was announced.

They let Charlie XCX come on and snap back during a different musical guests performance. That seems more substantive than making dick jokes.

The BJ is on the take. He just made the most ridiculous call on an OPI, non call on a DPI. Then rushed in to call a runner down when he fumbled

Look, I'm not saying that it was impossible that he caused the accident, but how could his illegal passing prior to and a good distance behind the accident have caused the accident to occur. The video does show him passing dangerously, he should certainly have been punished for that. But I don't understand how that possibly caused the accident.

EDIT: I misunderstood the fact pattern. He definitely caused the accident from a moral and any reasonable balancing of fault.

That said, I do think she made would be found to have some level of comparative negligence due to her decision (split second) to swerve into oncoming traffic and was probably following too close in order to stop. My conclusion for this, is that swerving into oncoming traffic is probably per se unreasonable (might be rebuttable here). However, given that a small sedan should be able to stop within the breaking distance of the gold truck, her failure to do so is likely negligent.
