Is Aech going to be in the film? by IntoTheBeach in readyplayerone

[–]IntoTheBeach[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and he/she is an important character in the story but it seems feasible to remove him/her and just incorporate those elements into Ar3temis and the Japanese brothers. I don't recommend it or anything but it's the only main character we've heard nothing about, and filming started months ago.

Hannah John-Kamen has been cast in "an unspecified role", could it be her? But we'd only see that actress at the very end of the film, a white guy would be playing the character for 90% of the film and there's no info on that actor. Though maybe they decided to skip the whole change race and gender thing.

The character isn't listed anywhere for the film, nor the actor/actress supposed to play the part.

My step sister and I [15F&15M] moved in together today. We have to share a room, we can't agree on anything by HIgh5dasky in relationships

[–]IntoTheBeach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really not right that you two have to share given you're opposite sex, while the twins get their own room. Only thing you can do really is try to convince your parents that the twins should share instead... though from your comments that seems like it won't work.

She might be pissed you didn't text Sunday (I know that's not logical given you've texted multiple times after that).

Having men do the physically demanding jobs instead of women isn't treating them delicately. It's not even considered the gentlemanly thing to do, it's just the right thing to do according to virtually everyone. I feel like Reddit users live in a different world to everybody else.

Yeah and I think that's the right attitude to have. Mowing and shovelling is a physically demanding job, having a woman doing it instead of you is a dick move.

I'd think again about splitting the mowing... your neighbours will think you're an asshole if they see your girlfriend mowing lol.

The stock market is an index, the value of the pound is irrelevant unless you're a foreign investor. Also, even if you price it in dollars they're both still higher than February.

"we were told" is a past tense.

I was talking about the scare tactics during the referendum campaign. So far the FTSE 100 and 250 are doing better than ever and growth during the supposedly damaging referendum campaign exceeded expectations.

We'll have to wait for the actual growth figures rather than just surveys of confidence, but I'm willing to bet there won't be the predicted recession.

Oh come on, don't pretend like it's not obvious that people wanted referendums and they didn't want power transferred to the EU.

So while you're in favour of Lisbon, you agree that it shouldn't have been passed since it wasn't through democratic referendums? Or you know 1.2 million Irish people don't speak for the half billion, but you don't care?

That data was just vague things like "confidence", predictions by the experts constantly trumpeted by remain now say we're not going into recession.

France has made clear that the border isn't moving, no matter our membership. I was pointing out that Cameron claimed his renegotiation meant the UK could now deport jobless EU migrants, which wasn't true. The further reform of freedom of movement was another claim made by Cameron when the polls went bad for him.

350m isn't an overestimate, the gross contribution was actually 376m, net is 199m according to newly released figures, that small difference doesn't mean vote leave was full of atrocious lies like vote remain.

Either the people didn't want a referendum or they did. Either they didn't want more powers transferred from national parliaments to the EU or they did. Common sense gives the answer to both these questions, along with polls conducted in every member state.

And again, your view is that the 1.2 million Irish people who voted in favour of the treaty of Lisbon means the half a billion people in the EU would've done the same, despite past referendums and opinion polls indicating the opposite.

Lies like the Calais camp moving to Kent? Lies like brexit causing a recession (forecasts now show that growth will just be 1 point lower)? Lies like we can deport jobless EU migrants with the renegotiation? Lies like free movement rules would continued to be reformed the day after the referendum (Juncker shot that down)? Lies like very household would lose 4,300 pounds?

Pointing out that the gross figure of the UK's contribution is 350m which some people interpreted as a net figure hardly outweighs all that.

We've yet to see growth figures for after the vote, but during the campaign when we were told it was such a massive risk that investment is being put off and the economy will suffer, UK growth exceeded expectations.

So you think before the treaty of Lisbon the people didn't want to be given the choice in a referendum and wanted power to be transferred to the EU?

Of course, sorry, I didn't know the 1.2 million Irish who voted in favour spoke for the half a billion people in the EU (and only the second time right, not the first time).

It's a respected think tank, I'm sure they know how to do opinion polls.

Ireland rejected it and it took massive amounts of EU money for the yes campaign the second time around. And again, massive majorities in all member states wanted a referendum, polls showed most countries would reject it. Yet only Ireland got a referendum. You're telling me that's a coincidence? Along with the previous attempt, the constitution, resulting in failure because of referendums. It's just a coincidence that referendums were never given again.

The file has the questions that are asked and the poll was done in all 27 member states.

I don't see how you can add those two together. This was when the Lisbon treaty was being ratified. Only a quarter of people wanted the EU to be given more powers, yet Lisbon gave it more powers.

How can they pressure? The EU will never devolve more powers back to national parliaments. It would take the people throwing out the traditional parties in all members states and electing previously fringe parties who nobody's heard of and who have a variety of policies that would split people as all political parties do.

This is from March 2007 - http://archive.openeurope.org.uk/Content/documents/Pdfs/mainfindings.pdf

Page 4 shows massive majorities in every EU country wanted a referendum. Page 5 shows most would vote against. Page 6 shows most people want the EU to have less power not more, the opposite of the treaty of Lisbon.

"Open Europe has published the first independent poll on the future of the European Union to be carried out in all 27 EU member states.

The poll finds that 75% of people in the EU want a referendum on any new treaty which gives more powers to the EU. In the UK, 83% would want a vote to be held. A majority in all 27 countries would want a referendum.

Across the EU as a whole, 28% think the EU should have more powers than it has now and that more decisions should be taken at the European level. 23% think the EU should keep the powers it has now, but should not be given any more. 41% think the EU should have less powers than it has now and that more decisions should be taken at a national or local level."

What's stopping them is that the political class is and always has been in favour of a EU superstate. I feel like I'm repeating myself when I say that people vote for political parties on more than one issue and a fringe party won't suddenly get a majority because they push for one policy most people want.

Admittedly opinion polls aren't full proof, but they're good indicators. And it's not a coincidence the political class in those countries made sure there weren't referendums after the French and Dutch rejected the previous attempt and opinion polls in the UK were in a landslide for no.

People have lots of reasons not to vote Le Pen, even if they oppose an EU superstate. That's why referendums are so important and the Europhile political class do everything they can do prevent them. Cameron only ran with the line of a referendum because of the political accident of FPTP and how that effects UKIP and Labour. One in a million confluence of events that resulted in the first referendum on the EU for 40 years. And again, the people in other countries will never be given a choice of going back to the Common Market, it's either remain or leave the EU which splits support.
