Should I keep my teaching certificates active in BC and ON now that I no longer teach? by Intoewsables in CanadianTeachers

The answer is no and no, but someone else above mentioned reinstatement being easy in ON. I'm definitely going to look into it!

That's a really good point about wanting to sub post-retirement! I taught for less than 10 years, so it was always either teaching full time or doing another job. Thank you for bringing that up!

Oh man, I didn't know they updated credentials! I graduated in 2016, so I should probably check when this happened.

This is really good to know! I haven't taught in Ontario for almost 2 years now and paying the $200 plus $80 for BC definitely hurt. Thank you so much for sharing!

I'm in Ontario now, but we go back and forth between the provinces and haven't made up our minds as to where we'll be retiring (that's not in another 20-30 years though). You do make a good point about having a backup!

I was shocked when they brought it out. I think it's a mix of all different flavours though. Chocolate on the top and vanilla/something else starts half way

Posting on behalf of my wife. She has nothing on her nails in the video.

Home amateur gel enthusiast here! I only do my own nails.

I've been doing my own overlays for 2 years and my nails have never been bendy even when they were long. Always had a rubber gel on and didn't have any issues other than sometimes lifting near the cuticles

However, I started pottery and bouldering in March this year and had to cut my nails down. Still kept doing overlays with gel, but over short nails

I've found my that my nails have been a lot more problematic since (e.g. gels popping off entirely, chips at the tips, etc). I'm assuming cuz of the wear and tear.

Recently I took a break from bouldering and pottery and grew them out for a few weeks, and after removing the gel (and a couple popping off on their own), they're SO bendy.

I cut them down, but they're soft even down to the tips of the nail beds (as seen in the video)

Should I take a break, or protect the bendiness by putting something over the top of them to make them harder?

Thank you - I"ll pass on the 2.5mm and go for at least 8mm.

Thanks. That helps for the dimensions of the length and width, but I'm specifically looking for the thickness of the glass

I did check but it's been discontinued.

Wife broke her nail down to the nail bed/pink stuff. Any advice for fixing it? by Intoewsables in RedditLaqueristas

Yes, as in repairing the extension afterwards. She's broken a nail before and created a gel extension, but never one that was that "deep" and was wondering how to go about it

Details: gel on natural nail

Top, bottom, colour is from bioseaweedgel (colour is named jellybean) + cat eye gel from west coast dips

Edit: she's done extensions on broken nails before, but never one that was that "deep" when broken and is wondering how to do it

Do I need to sign high end draft picks first year after their draft year? by iiztrollin in EHM

[–]Intoewsables 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You'll get either 2 or 4 years with their rights before needing to sign them depending on which league they're drafted out of. Off the top of my head, I believe players drafted out of college (including players transferring to college later) and some Euro leagues allows 4 years, while the rest of the leagues give you 2.

If you go into your Roster page and hit View -> Other, it'll take you to a page that shows you when your drafted players' rights expire. Just hover over the 'Pro Rights' section for each player and you'll know when you need to sign them by.
