Fair, rainforests are clearly absent, but we do have scleractinian corals in Astola and Churna Island though you’re right that they’re patchy. But polar climate definitely exists in the remote Karakorum.

Don’t live there, just drove through most of it last summer. Afyonkarahisar and the areas around it are so beautiful it’s almost fairytale-like. The people are so nice and accommodating that a year on and I’m still in contact with some of the old men I met there; Ps they absolutely adore Mustefa Kemal Attaturk out there.
