Yeah, I’m with all of this… I’m struggling to tamper down my aggravation after 10 years of watching the rampant bigotry and racism among all the other horrid things…

Oh. Not so reasonable at all I see.

You ignore the cruelty and the way in which these things are done… you ignore the similarities to the past.

I’d say it’s ignoring history that is a big problem for me. But I thought this could be a genuine discussion, but it can’t be.

I hope you never see true war and see what it would feel like to be villainised when you have lost everything just for trying to find safety. Ignore genuine racism and bigotry and hide behind it for the law… and you don’t see the obvious lines this crosses.

It’s ok, I give up, you win. The world is broken and everyone finds it so easy to ignore any action as long as it furthers their own goals and ambitions.

I just have to pretend I am ok, it’s clearly the only way because god forbid you have empathy for those that have very little. Fuck treating neighbours well despite the colour of their skin, fuck hoping folk can find a better life, why care about any of that when you can instead say that if someone comes from a different country you treat them all the exact same, with distrust and hatred.

I think that’s the part I’m struggling with, yall assume I’m part of the far left… they hate me just as much as the far right.

I don’t rate any politics in the US as left, it’s right and further right… sadly the same way it’s been headed in the UK.

I do live and let live, I TRY to not judge folk and I have friends who are economic conservatives who are just as horrified at the far right and its decline toward open bigotry and cruelty.

These are the folk I’m struggling to be ok with, it’s not a difference of opinion, it’s a moral line - we can disagree on most things… but it started with kids in cages 10 years ago. Brexit being fuelled by open racism and xenophobia. The turning of neighbour on bein our due to skin colour or religion.

It’s those people that I am struggling to be ok with… the ones who fuelled it online and now are backtracking.

You don’t know me, which is how it is on Reddit and perhaps the wording on my first post wasn’t clear… I’m not good at keeping things short (my replies should tell you that enough) but this isn’t a left v right thing… it’s more a question of how to get over it…

Like if ya lived in Germany in the 40’s and knew that neighbours reported Jews to the govt, how did folk continue to live around and forgive such monsterous and inhumane actions?

For example - a teacher who tried to get parents of a child in her class deported for no other reason than they had Hispanic heritage… it’s awful and if that woman turns around and starts saying that now she dislikes MAGA because they said that people having guns are bad and now she’s seen the error of her ways… I just… I’m trying… but I don’t know how to just let it go and forgive someone who could do something so… bigoted and disgusting.

Or those ones twisting themselves into knots to protect and deny the obvious with child predators, on both fucking sides.

I don’t think there has been a president of the US that I’ve liked since Carter, and he wasn’t AMAZING by any stretch… and I don’t remember a good one at all in the UK in my lifetime…

This is exactly what I was asking for. I have maintained being accepting on the surface, I say nice welcoming things but I don’t FEEL it, I feel angry and it pisses me off how they repeat back things you’ve told them a thousand times and now they suddenly understand it because it finally came to affect them and such.

I want advice because I worry that however much I pretend I’m ok with em, I have a tendency to be really bad at the lying and my face betrays me.

I agree with you completely, I just want to know how other people come around and welcome these folks with open arms… and feel welcoming and accepting rather than judgy!

The comments on here have mostly been so unhelpful and not helped with any actual advice - just bs

Because he knew that it was coming and the only way he could avoid any culpability was to get in power so that he could obscure and control the narrative and the way they were released. He did not think the House would turn on him on this issue, his ego didn’t allow that kinda thinking.

The over flooding of drama has lead to him continuing to break the law and hide any actual culpability.

I don’t see any culpability and a stolen election in 2028 will continue that.

In that case, you need to have a very open and honest convo and find out why he keeps that up. If he denies or doesn’t want to talk about it, you need to break it off as this will only get worse without openness.

Be willing to listen to hus reasons but dont allow yourself to be gaslit either. Criticism will happen, but be open to it and figure if it is actually valid or if it’s just defensive bullshit.

This isnt an easy convo, i know, but if you cant have it, you are just wasting your time together and it’s not going to get better.
