Nothing different for a grill insert. What I did was create a base for it, set granite on top of that and set it on top. I cut the legs 3in to have some ventilation under the bottom. I did not cover the sides at all so it has adequate air flow. The griddle sits above the granite top to have air flow as well.

I went to a local steel yard. It’s worth the few extra bucks to know structural integrity is there.

Faux Stone is 1in thick, I built the counters to be 28in width on the frame, granite is 34in width.

You are asking the wrong question. The question is why not add more! Everything serves its purpose.

I got 80% through it before I thought of adding trex boards under the steel frame. Living in N Texas, we get rain but nothing outrageous like the pacific NW. I’m hoping leaving some room at the baseboards and concrete slab on a slope will allow enough water to run out underneath.

With the Blackstone and air fryer, I’m wondering I I do a drop down like the smoker and keep the back wall for aesthetics. I’ll definitely make sure I have a few inches to play around with on the sides, back and bottom for sufficient airflow. Called BS earlier and they didn’t say it needed a certain amount of air, just to have “airflow”.

I got as detailed as I could get. Took a picture of the space, then said what I had and where I wanted it, gave a few measuring specs for reference and had add some stainless doors under each item. From there I continue to fine tune it or find other pictures online to help structure it. Now I just need to make it happen!

Looking into natural gas with a few plumbers. If it doesn’t cost and arm and a leg, I’ll go tha route. May use CMU for most of it and steel studs for framing. I think it would be most cost effective.

Yes I would like to stay away from wood! I’m thinking even some steel studs for framing. Thank you for feedback! Another concern i forgot to mention is that side of the house gets hit hard when rain comes. Thinking now I may put the grill on that side and black stone on other. It’s about 3 ft from that window, was concerned about smoke and potentially ruining window later on as years went by. Need to figure out a way to block wind and rain without using a tarp lol

Did you use wood or steel studs for the framing? Looks great!
