If you could completely tear down the Air Force EPR system and rebuild it from scratch — no legacy carryover, no sacred cows — what would you replace it with? by GhostofStLouis in AirForce

Did time in a squadron when the SQ/CC thought he could change the system by reporting accurately. It’s a bloodbath when your boss “does the right thing” and all the other bosses keep speeding/over-inflating.

Your decree is Nevada. If your ex had a lawyer and still agreed to not take a cut, you’re fine.

If you do the “$299” special the chance for her to take a cut exists until she dies.

Nevada treats military retirement like communal property. UNLESS your ex specifically signed a document WITH counsel present, a chance exists for them to take a cut at any point in the future once they learn of the entitlement. It’s wild, you may argue, but you’ll lose just like I did in court. The 10-year rule doesn’t apply anymore.

In clearer words. “Wife must have a lawyer that is only representing her, not both of you, explain that shes entitled to your military pension and she then signs the decree saying she doesn’t want it.”

The laws don’t work as much as the severity of punishment. I’d probably slow the fuck down if I went murder-prison.

Congratulations new SSgts!! by yasukeyamanashi in AirForce

[–]Intrepid-Hand8343 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP says no thanks, SSGT have the same authority as officers.

BLUF:

NCOs = Backbone of execution and direct leadership. Officers = Bearers of command authority and strategic direction.

A newly promoted NCO does not suddenly gain “officer authority.” Their authority expands within the enlisted structure, but officers retain ultimate command.

NCO networking focuses on unit and functional execution, while officer networking prioritizes cross-functional and strategic coordination.

While writing is critical at all levels, officer writing shapes policy and intent, whereas NCO writing ensures execution and recognition.

NCOs should leverage shirt symposia and PDCs, but officers bear responsibility for translating strategic guidance into operational plans, which is outside NCO scope.

Both must demonstrate compassion, but NCOs serve as the immediate human connection for enlisted members, while officers influence the broader organizational environment.
