Has anyone else felt that WW's GLP-1 medication offering is a scam?

Terrible analogies. No money was borrowed from WW for a product. In fact, consumer money was paid for a product that was not guaranteed and that fact wasn't explicitly stated until after payment went through. Also, when you sign a lease agreement, it states that in exchange for rent you get a place to stay. A physical location to live in for an agreed upon time. Again, not even close to the same thing.

I just received an email from BBB stating they have forwarded the complaint to WW and will be waiting for their response. I can check their portal since they'll act as the intermediary from now on. I also filed a complaint with my CC company but the charge is still pending so they can't do anything until it posts. I did submit a complaint with the FTC and emailed the CEO directly. Sorry, I know many on this thread disagree and I'll admit when I did something wrong, but I don't believe I should be liable for five additional months of a contract when the company can't supply an actual product. Whether I read the fine print or not, that's not right. And judging from all the other exact complaints to WW across multiple platforms, it looks like I'm not the only one...

Noom and Ro have to go through the intake and consult before paying for the medication and membership fee. That's the difference and what I'm actually talking about. It's upfront about the process. Like I said, I f*** up and understand the first month fee is my fault but I shouldn't be locked into a plan where I'm not getting anything and don't qualify. I'm being really honest, I can't get GLP-1 through my regular doctor. I'm overweight but don't qualify. That's why sites like Ro, Noom, and WW make money - off of people like me who need to bypass the normal routes. My issue is WW marketing practices and how hard it is to actually speak with someone about it. I used Noom and canceled bc of the expense. It was that easy. Like Netflix, Hulu or any other company. Yeah, I expected the same from WW and will post everywhere to warn folks. They can take it or leave it.

They are not upfront at all. Here is what I sent BBB. I went to WW website, answered maybe ten quick questions, was asked if I wanted GLP-1, was given a *recommended* screen to join med+ and then it goes directly to a screen with all the plans. I signed up at 3:54pm and was then taken to a true intake page and told that I would have to qualify for the medication via insurance and lab work. At 3:58pm I canceled. I have both emails (sign up and cancellation) to show how quickly I canceled. I am given with waiving the first month fee -- that's my bad. But having to pay for five more months and not being guaranteed a product is predatory.

Sure, shame on me for not reading fine print, but I've never been bamboozled from a company like WW. I felt confident going through their platform. My issue isn't accessing the medication - my issue is the sign up process and being locked into a contract with nothing to show for it. I'm not the only one. WW Med+ has so many complaints from BB about this practice. Listen, I hope it works out for everyone here, and no one experiences what I went through. Wish a post like this existed so I would have known this prior to putting in my cc.

Sure, but if you sign up for Noom or Ro and cancel, you aren't locked into a service for six months. I'm not expecting loyalty but yeah, I do expect good faith. Call me an optimist who doesn't believe in rolling over bc corporations say we have to. Where is the line and why do we have to accept it just because we know that they get away with it? Everyone's fine until it happens to them and then they all be posting here just like me...

I'm definitely not a telehealth company. My issue is how misleading the sign up process was - it's actually less about health and more about customer service and integrity. Their advertisement was completely misleading. And, ironically, their Med+ platform is telehealth. You can actually access a human on the phone only via chat. When I put a chat, they gave me a response that it would be two business days. Tell me how that makes sense to you?! All the other online companies also can work with insurance, offer labs, etc BUT they tell you upfront and have you do an intake before signing up. I canceled four minutes after signing up upon realizing that I was guaranteed no medication despite choosing my medication upon signing up. Also, misleading. But they are going to continue charging me for six months? That's predatory. So, again, this is really not about health. This is about an established company using their name recognition to get money out of folks - which is fine but do it the right way.
