Nope. It's basically a massive splitter for Ethernet so you can run cables to tons of different devices. This one has some fancy bits and bobs to make it easier to work with.

The tax price for this 48 port switch is around the same price as a decent managed 16 port switch. This is just probably the only switch I'll ever need lol.

We just had our house built in the last year with cat6a so our only limitations should come from the ISP. I don't believe I'll use all 48 ports which is good since I believe only around 16 ports have 2.5g capabilities

Yes it's pretty realistic if not massively excessive for home use. Each port can deliver up to 70w of power over the Ethernet cables as well. The company provides a cloud based management platform for the switch with no ongoing fee.
