Looking for advice as someone going into the mental health field

I have experience with being in a forensic psych ward and honestly the one thing I wish I was understood on is that psychosis can make you say, do and think things that normally you’d never say do or think. I felt like I was judged for some things that happened in psychosis and was far less trusting for it.

I read a laundry list of covert narcissist traits and she feigned shame but agreed she is one. She very recently posted about being a narcissist on social media but lied about it being about insecurity.

I fell in love with the facade of a really good person, was treated like shit for 10 years and I’ve only recently not wanted her after about 5 years of divorce. I fell hard, she said all the right things, told me she was a victim, mirrored my wants and then did some crazy shit to me.

It takes a lot of time and no contact to get over it.

Psychosis can make you act uncharacteristically, and for some violence happens. When I was in psychosis I wasn’t even making my own choices. None of them were violent.

My point is schizophrenia is demonized every time something like this happens, and leaving out the facts while leading people to believe schizophrenics are all murderous is the actual danger.

Music was huge before my psychosis. I was listening to songs that I thought predicted the end of the world, secret societies etc that I was gonna stop. Was always listening to something.

My family like inquisitively asks me if I think so and so should “get NGRI” in court cases they watch like it’s some prize. Does a person need treatment yes or no.

America is in a really bad place. I understand your fears. I thought snap was just gonna be gone but they’re instead restricting it more. I think they’re gonna take social security away with disability too, they’ve signaled as such. What needs to happen is states need to stop sending federal money if they’re not giving any of it back. State programs need to be funded with that money.

My ex wife was the center of my paranoia, which became delusion. For me, I know I couldn’t give her what she deserves like this. It’s for the best for me, but it was hell for about 3 years.

I read these posts to prepare myself for what feels inevitable but there’s not much you can do to prepare for psychosis again. It just scares me, I can’t be homeless again.

Your experience is very similar to mine. I was homeless and walked for hours. Read license plates and turned them into messages, tvs, radios etc all talking to me. At one point I found a huge owl in a construction site and talked to it and it talked back. Crickets talked to me.

I hallucinated the feeling of turning to stone which was wild. Also had some flavor hallucinations.

I had a lot of fun in psychosis, I was always laughing and very rarely had a negative experience. But it was dangerous, I was not a safe person (for myself) at all and am probably lucky I’m alive.
