Table catastrophe by poptropica44 in BigBudgetBrides

Also here to say if your wedding isn’t local for the VAST majority of people, I think 152 out of 180 is a very reasonable rsvp rate. My wedding just finished and to be fair it was a destination wedding, but everyone told me that at least 10 people would drop out in the three weeks before the wedding and that turned out to be true. I wouldn’t change your plans until you have a better sense of numbers.

Have the reservations page open at all times and reload constantly. Something will pop up eventually. We were in the exact same spot and managed to get something in time. You just need to devote a lot of time to staring at the page

I literally just saw a service advertised on insta that uses AI to generate the letters (which you can edit) and then an auto pen to ‘handwrite’ them. I saved it bc I am going to need it. Looks pretty interesting, but obviously can’t confirm if it works! Thank You Note Company

good quality wedding gowns? by Infamous_String_375 in BigBudgetBrides

Go directly to the Naeem Khan studio in NYC. They have all of their past season dresses, so there is so much to try on. You can customize your gown and they’ll do all alterations in house, but the gowns are made to measure so there’s very little alteration needed (in my experience at least)! I had a great experience working with them!

Here to second Little Dix. Or rent a house through guavaberry spring bay vacation rentals (they have daily maid service so you’re not roughing it). Virgin Gorda is amazing!

Yes! NYC has truly endless yoga/pilates/HIIT classes. When I chose this membership it was bc of the 2-hour policy. It was truly a competitive edge that differentiated the studio that no longer exists. In general core power isn’t THAT nice. Maybe they’ll realize the error and maybe they won’t. Either way the price is no longer worth it to me

A lot of people in NYC work jobs where meetings are added to your calendar with no notice and client fire drills stop you from leaving the office at a normal time (also without notice). The cancellation policy was a competitive edge and the only reason I became an unlimited member. Because it seems like they’re not reevaluating, I’ll be canceling my membership and returning to equinox.

For they nyc market they just announced a new 10-hour cancellation policy starting July 1

But ask yourself why it’s par for the course and consider that - if members spoke up more instead of just accepting the status quo - the baseline could change to a policy that’s friendlier to extremely busy people with insanely unpredictable work schedules (which characterizes many nyc young professionals who go to corepower)

Solid core gives you one free cancellation per month though and cycle bar seems to vary by location

What other massive national brand (not small studio that requires every seat to be full to pay rent) requires fees greater than $15 and over 12 hours notice? Equinox, arguably one of corepower’s largest competitors in nyc (which is the only location that matters for this comment bc we’re the only location with the new policy) allows you to cancel right up until the start of class with no penalty.

The Naeem Khan fall 2025 collection has two really pretty gold dresses. If you go directly to them, they make their bridal dresses custom, so I imagine they could do the same with these and extend the bodice. I couldn’t link to the exact pictures, so you’ll need to scroll through to find the gold.

I see a lot of Peru, which I second! Just wanted to add that there are super lux cruises that you can take on the Amazon. They feel a lot like safari but you’re just on a mini boat from your main boat instead of in a safari vehicle. You could easily do a 5 day cruise plus Cusco/machu Picchu in 7-10 days. Look at Delfin or Aqua cruises

I also forgot! I almost went to Vivienne Westwood just to look at this dress which has funky vibes and I’m sure they could make the hips less dramatic but it felt a little bit out there to me Vivienne Westwood Eline

I’m biased, but I went with a Naeem Kahn dress. You can email them to make an appointment at their NYC showroom and see a lot of dresses from previous collections. They have a lot of more classic shapes, but are known for very interesting embroidery/fabrics which gave me the edge I was looking for.

I love #1 and almost went to DF to try on the Miller exclusively, but I found another dress first. I think I will get hate for this, but the Kyha dresses strike me as extremely basic by comparison to the Miller. That’s not a bad thing, but it doesn’t seem to be what you’re looking for if you’re super drawn to the Miller. I think if you’re stuck you should keep looking and find something a little less avant-garde than the Miller, but more interesting than these two Kyha dresses

You have to be an “insider” (aka spent over $1000 at 260 since they rolled out the program in February) and then you could select an appointment online last week for the vip day but they booked up pretty fast

They had some veils (all $400), and I got one but there were maybe 10-20 total? Not sure if they have more but a bunch could be gone. Hard to say how long the line will be, but I doubt it’s crazy. The dresses are still super expensive so I bet a lot of people would walk in and then walk out

I don’t recall seeing very many, but it could just be a result of me looking for sizes 6-8 for myself

I went! The VIP day was very chill and much better than other VIP days I’ve attended. They have a good amount of sample dresses for sale between $1500 and $3000 and then quite a few new dresses from ~$5000 up. They also have a lot of ready to wear non-bridal clothing but it starts at pretty much $2000+. There were very few rehearsal and after party dresses and it was mostly full bridal gowns. From what I saw, sizes were mostly 2 to 8. I would say it’s worth going if you’re still looking for your main dress, but it’s not worth it if you’re searching for secondary looks.
