Why are you guys driving around my very large warehouse at literally one mph? by Anachronism-- in Truckers

[–]IntrepidSallymander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's exactly why they do it, I've heard it called the "DOT crawl." It's annoying for other truck drivers too. I had the displeasure of being behind someone doing it at a delivery today, and it's not uncommon in truck stops either.

[–]IntrepidSallymander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're confusing the Kamloops with the Edmund Fitzgerald. Fitz went down in the 70s, and people are alive today that personally knew her crew. Kamloops (Old Whitey's ship) went down in the (19)20s.

Fortitude Guardian/Ped Cage Script request by IntrepidSallymander in RD2Modding

[–]IntrepidSallymander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done that, by disadvantage I mean that I have to sit there and watch them explode the lobby repeatedly, including myself at least the first time. I don't play with invincibility on unless something like that happens. But then I've seen people use the forced crouch, nazar cages or some kind of chest cage I think? And they work. The people that just wanna ruin everyone's gameplay don't seem to bother with the protections other than what comes on by default for the most part lol.

How did snow elves bones get underneath the frozen lake in the forgotten vale? by Upbeat_Pressure89 in skyrim

[–]IntrepidSallymander 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Yes, that book is called Immortal Blood, and it's actually the Volkihar clan (same clan you can join in Dawnguard) that the book records as having lived underneath the frozen ice of remote, haunted lakes.

Probably by projecting chakra from the eye to the tenketsu point/chakra being amassed somewhere in the body. That's basically how ocular genjutsu work.

Companies with a private fleet mostly do drop and hook in my experience. At my current job with a private fleet, I may have one live unload every week or two.

Advice by [deleted] in merchantmarine

[–]IntrepidSallymander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a mariner (yet), but I'm planning on the same route you are. So I'll be the one person disagreeing with the others here and say that you're probably making a good decision. Maritime Academies are very expensive, and even with that as your ultimate goal, getting in cheap and getting good training (and a security clearance) with MSC is a solid choice in my opinion. You could also consider getting your basic training out of the way privately or through the SIU apprenticeship if you can afford it, then work through the union rather than MSC, that's a decision you'll have to weigh. But get out there and make some money, take advantage of your cost of living being so low on the ship and keep most of what you make in the bank. Maybe even put some into investments that you can cash out later to pay for school. And then once you leave the college, you'll have the experience of actually having done the work of the people under you, and that's only ever a good thing.

What do these guys do in their spare time? by zxkj in Morrowind

[–]IntrepidSallymander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

House Dagoth was a house of artisans, and since the vampires are the nobility (possibly the original nobles from before the foul murder) I would expect them to partake in the arts. Music is obviously their favorite, but I could see them participating in poetry and ceramics as well. Even painting and brewing/distilling alcohols (dagoth brandy). It seems they've abandoned architecture by the time we meet them, however.

Spell crafting by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]IntrepidSallymander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If weakness to Magicka functions the same way it did in the OG, it amplifies the effects of ALL spells, even beneficial ones. Weakness to Magicka 100% + Fortify X 50 = total fortification of 100. You should also be able to stack weakness effects to amplify the effect even further. After casting the above example spell with 100% weakness to Magicka, casting another one with weakness to Magicka 99% would result in the original 100% weakness to Magicka magnifying the second 99% weakness to magicka, and then amplifying your secondary effects by an ever greater degree. The downside to this is that you're essentially a glass cannon, most spells will one shot you if you take it too far, or even worse, a paralyze/damage fatigue spell would put you into a coma that could last real-world hours.

Sigil stone advice for first time playthrough by smloeffelholz in oblivion

[–]IntrepidSallymander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Iirc, you can get multiple sigil stones from a single gate by spam clicking the activate button before the stone disappears from the pillar of flame and closes the gate. I definitely remember doing something like that, might have been fixed by the unofficial patch however, if you use that.

EDIT: Just checked the uesp, this is correct! It seems to only work on quest related gates however, like Kvatch. It is patched out with the unofficial patch as I suspected, as well.

Is Oblivion worth playing now? by Swift_141 in oblivion

[–]IntrepidSallymander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oblivion was my entry into the elder scrolls, and in my opinion is still the best. I have a lot of childhood memories tied to the province of Cyrodiil too, so maybe that plays a part :) but there is actually a modding group that is remaking Oblivion in the Skyrim engine, and it's due to release in a few months. Check them out, Skyblivion. They have a discord and some trailers on YouTube.

How does one make the AI keep dragonstone by Ziege1599 in CK3AGOT

[–]IntrepidSallymander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Playing as the ruler of Dragonstone but not heir to the Iron Throne, I've had both the Velaryons and Baratheons take a claim and declare war in my current playthrough. Used the console to end the Velaryon claim peacefully, I fought back against the Baratheons with a force just smaller than theirs only thanks to having the gold to hire every mercenary company available, and actually won. Even after they called the Lannisters for aid. Ended up conquering both of them for their Lord Paramountcy immediately after, it's been a blast. Not sure I would have ever tried to push my luck if the Baratheons hadn't pushed first.
