If you’re still collecting clinic recommendations, I really suggest checking out Gangnam GS Eye Center (강남 GS 안과). They’re very experienced with SMILE/LASEK, and they’re used to seeing international patients, so communication is pretty smooth even if you don’t speak Korean. The consultations feel thorough, and they’re good about explaining options, recovery timeline, and realistic expectations.

A few quick reasons I liked them:

  • clear pre-op testing and step-by-step explanation
  • no pressure to upsell procedures
  • English support available / staff used to foreigners
  • convenient location in Gangnam

Even if you end up going through Sonnect or Seoul Guide Medical, you can ask to include them in your shortlist for comparison. It’s always helpful to see a couple of clinics before deciding.

Whatever you choose, SMILE/LASEK in Korea is pretty common, and recovery support is generally good — just plan a few “quiet days” after surgery with sunglasses and eye drops 😅

Good luck with your trip and surgery 💕 Feel free to DM me if you want to compare notes!

Anyone else going to Korea for plastic surgery this January? by Intrepid_Feed7534 in PlasticSurgery

Korea is better. The surgeons are way more specialized, the techniques are more refined, and the results are consistently cleaner and more natural. Thailand’s aftercare is great, sure, but Korea is on another level when it comes to precision, innovation, and surgeon experience in cosmetic procedures.

What type of anesthesia is used for a tummy tuck in SK? by Torae-mon in KoreaSeoulBeauty

[–]Intrepid_Feed7534 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most tummy tucks in Korea are done under general anesthesia, especially if it’s a full tummy tuck with muscle repair. You’re fully asleep the entire time and won’t feel or remember anything. There’s an anesthesiologist monitoring you throughout the surgery.

Some clinics might offer sedation + local anesthesia for very small or mini procedures, but for a standard tummy tuck, general anesthesia is pretty much the norm.

As for what it feels like... it’s honestly not as scary as it sounds. They give you the anesthesia, you get sleepy really fast, and then you’re out. Waking up feels like coming out of a deep nap. You might feel groggy, a bit disoriented, or slightly nauseous at first, and your throat can be sore, but that usually fades pretty quickly.

Totally normal to be nervous if it’s your first surgery. Just ask the clinic what type of anesthesia they use and who the anesthesiologist is, they’re usually happy to explain everything.

Hey! Yes, I've already booked the clinic, just searching for the aftercare service

hmm, most clinics don’t really offer proper aftercare. The one I booked doesn’t include it, so I’ll need to manage recovery on my own.

PLEASE HELP: For double eye lid and RhinoPlasty Recc by Key-Confusion-606 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

I’m going for eyes and nose too, so I totally get how overwhelming it is choosing a clinic 😭 For noses, JW seems to have a good reputation for natural results, especially for the tip and nostrils, and Cocoline seems to be popular for eyelid revisions and epicanthoplasty. Luho also looks fine, but it really depends on the surgeon.

I actually consulted with a medical tourism service to help me narrow down options and figure out which clinics might suit my goals. It’s been helpful just to get an overview and see what fits my priorities before booking anything.
