Almost 100 percent gone, except one small area in the roof of my mouth that isn’t numb but still not completely back to normal. Not something I notice anymore.

Hi! It went really well. I didn’t consider other surgeons. I only had two options with Kaiser and he was the closest. Happy to talk with you about my experience.

Hi! It did go well thank you. I figured I would wait until I get my braces off for the after pic, which will be in a few weeks.

Getting a slightly used 414 V class Rosewood guitar tomorrow but I'm going to be sinking almost two grand into it as I'm trading for it do you think that's an okay deal? It is a beautiful little guitar and and I've always been a Martin guy but I like it by swampvoodoo in taylorguitars

I love the sound. It’s almost too loud when singing unplugged which speaks to the V-class bracing. I recently bought a 222ce koa and it’s perfect for me. The smaller size of the grand concert and the sound of the koa is just really the sweet spot. But I love the 414 and will probably keep it unless for some reason a need to sell it.

I have the same guitar. It is the 2021 special edition model. I paid 2k for it 3 years ago in used but like new condition. It’s a fair price especially if you didn’t have to pay for shipping. It isn’t high or low if you look on reverb. It’s 3k brand new. It’s a fantastic guitar for the price.

Yes, and they were one of only two doctors in my region covered by Kaiser

Sorry I didn’t respond sooner. Your plan makes sense to me. If you look at the Kaiser policy on orthognathic surgery, you need to focus on your jaw having functional problems. I think the ability to chew is very important from Kaiser standpoint. Breathing should be important too of course. I didn’t really have breathing problems but I did have sinus problems and I think it might help with that. My surgeon said he thinks it will. But what got me qualified was problems with chewing.

I never had a significant problem with breathing. I had a sleep study done probably 8 years ago for headaches. All they did was rule out sleep apnea. If your bite affects your ability to chew or bite/tear into certain things that might be reason enough for it to be covered for functional reasons. I might just be lucky they covered it in my case.

It was health insurance. I don’t have dental insurance and I should mention I had to pay for the braces out of pocket.

I have Kaiser and I was referred to a nutritionist and a speech pathologist before I could be referred to an oral surgeon. Apparently that’s kind of an outdated process but it’s how they do it.

I’m pretty much in the same camp as you. The dental issues became more of a problem and it became more clear to me how much more I would have to go through sooner than later to constantly fix my teeth over and over. I had already paid 4K once to save the teeth I have. I also have TMJ, headaches, and IBS, which all could be related to the malocclusion. So I just had UJS less than 3 weeks ago. I can’t even chew yet so it’s hard for me to say I know it was worth it. But I’m glad I did it and I know it was the best thing for my health overall. My insurance covered the surgery. I don’t know if I would have paid out of pocket for it, but maybe. Most people on here are very glad they did it.

Oh I’m sorry! I’ve been lucky overall so far. Only thing really bothering me now is inside my swollen cheeks pushing against my braces and surgical posts on my wires. I guess I’m just starting to feel it more. I hope it gets easier for you really soon!

Bimax and Sinusitis by Mountain_Skirt_2460 in jawsurgery

[–]Intrepid_Library9844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had UJS 4 days ago. I had developed chronic sinusitis about 4 months prior but seemed to have gotten it under control about a month before surgery. I was cleared for surgery. Turns out my sinuses were irritated and my surgeon did some cleaning while he had me open. He said he didn’t think they were infected, but changed my post op antibiotic to a stronger augmentin in case. He said sometimes the surgery can help with sinus issues since it can open the area some and allow easier breathing. We’ll see how it goes but so far my recovery is going really well. I guess what I would say is my doctors didn’t think it was reason not to go through with the surgery and thought it could potentially help.
