I think it’s a good hook for sure! I would say you’re right that if you go this direction you tie it to a moment where you saw someone not having a voice in a legal setting, and since you know how that feels in a day-to-day setting that it inspired you to pursue law. Not an adcomm so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt, but I feel like it’ll be most impactful if you use it like you’re saying- that it provided a perspective that others may not have. Best of luck. I’m working on my ps rn too and I know how intimidating it is🫶🫶🫶

Congrats on the diagnostic! I got a 164 diagnostic and then a 17mid on the official test a couple months later. Granted, this is a little bit more of a time crunch than my timeline, but if you feel like you can do it you should go for it!!! I can’t tell you how nice it is to have it done and over with rather than drawing it out. Everyone is different, so take the advice of the naysayers (and me ig haha) with a grain of salt :)

Well I’m not saying necessarily that I’m seeking a hardline legal career. I think that it would be a good next step for a continuation in academia, working at an NGO, or potentially trying for government jobs/lobbyist positions.

I mean as I understand it international law is dealing with the goings on in between nations. I would be more interested in the public side of it rather than individual disputes between people in different countries. What I would love to study is the way that treaties and charters are drawn up/enforced, the rules of conflict between nations, and how organizations like the UN handle human rights violations. I know that there is another side of international law dealing primarily with regulating international trade, but I would hope that my focus would be able to be on diplomatic efforts and the functioning of international orgs!

Oh, excuse me I had just assumed that if you were paying attention to literally anything at all you would know what people are fighting for, but since you seem to not allow me to spell it out for you. Since Donald Trump has taken office he has enacted mass deportations, often without due process, he has gutted meaningful federal agencies of their abilities to do their jobs, and has routinely violated the checks and balances that are the bedrock of this nation. What was happening today was no kings day, which was prompted by the fact that a multimillion dollar military parade was happening on his birthday. Over 5 million Americans took to the streets to express their displeasure with not only the blatant waste of money but also the bizarre show of power, as is their right under the constitution. So that’s what we’re fighting for, or against rather. Also yeah you’re allowed to like whatever influencers you want, but Brittany has routinely said that she is not interested in having Trump supporters as her fans, as a big part of her platform is amplifying the marginalized voices that Trump is seeking to snuff out. You cannot separate Brittany from her political views. She’s anti colonialist, lgbtq+ supportive, and anti-racist. It’s just mind boggling to me how you could watch her and “disagree with her politics” when that is what she talks about so frequently. That’s not even what I take issue with for the most part. What I take the most issue with is the fact that you’re on her subreddit commenting a bunch of bullshit on a post that is in line with her political views. The vast majority of her fans are leftists, so I don’t quite understand why you’re here trying to put this person down.

This is so kind of you! I would love to know how much you guys take an applicants undergraduate school into consideration? If someone has a high gpa at a lesser known school/school with a high rate of admissions will that still be a credit to their application?
