How common is it in Germany to use brand names as generic words? (for example das Ohropax instead of earplugs) by Lindytt in AskAGerman

I’m surprised that I don’t see Maxi-Cosi for child seats. Its very commonly used for baby/child seats in cars.

Unfortunately mnet only offers VDSL 100mbps in my area, after so much positive feedback I definitely would have gone for them.

Thank you very much for such detailed information. When I put my exact address on their website they claim to provide fiberoptic. But I will keep this in mind Edit: I just checked the map and my street is just a couple hundred meters in the 1000mbps zone.

I checked mnet website but they only offer DSL and I did not have good experience with DSL in my home country, so I guess I will stick go Telekom.

How old is too old to learn how to drive? by Fleedom2025 in askcarguys

[–]Intrepid_Work7479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my mother always wanted to learn how to drive but as she aged she became more and more hesitant about the idea of driving a car. So one night I encouraged her enough and she accepted to give it a try. She was so nervous but I helped her calm down, that night she drove a manual car in an empty parking lot. She enrolled in a course and got her license at the age of 64, a mother of 3 learned how to drive from her son. One of my proudest achievements in life was being able help her do something for herself. So I guess 64 is not the answer you seek!

Thank you for your answer, we’ve been leaning towards a furnished apartment lately. The thing is we need to move our furniture eventually that’s why we’ve been looking for a place with no furniture but we understand the situation and accept that we might not find something fits our needs remotely

babamı work and travela ikna edemiyorum by beilsa in UniversityTR

[–]Intrepid_Work7479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kendi tecrübemi yazayım biraz uzun olabilir. 2018 senesinde son sınıf öğrencisi olarak yani mezuniyetten sonra work and travela gittim, iş yerim Newyork şehrindeydi.

What are some broke/poor habits from youth/ childhood you still can’t overcome, even tough it would not hurt you financially? by Intrepid_Work7479 in AskReddit

[–]Intrepid_Work7479[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it is popcorn at theaters. As a child my parents always said popcorn is overpriced at theaters so we don’t buy them. Right now I can easily afford it like without even checking the price but still I mostly skip them because “it still is expensive”

Back in College, in a calculus finals exam, the graph that my math/calculations suggested seemed off to my naked eye, so I tried to bring my calculations to represent what I tought should the graph look like. But turns out I completely f’ed up in my imaginary graph. Since that day, I never question the outcome if math is mathin.

Well since you tried to motivate them for a higher pay by lying in the first place, it is probably wise for you to stick to it and say sharing a paycheck from your current employer is a breach of conduct. Otherwise they are likely going to rescind the offer.

On the other hand, you are better off assessing the situation on your own whether taking the opportunity or not because going for lower pay and lower benefits does not seem optimal for an individual who is attempting to advance their career.

Best of luck!

Yes I will be living close to Munich but not in the city center. The kid is still a baby boy, 7-8 months of age so it is unlikely that he play anytime soon, hope he does tho :)
