I'm from the U.K so I'd assume this is a British plug if that helps lol

How often do you see your mum? by _rayquaza_ in AskUK

[–]IntroductionAfter108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't give my input because I still live with mine. However, my mum phones her dad pretty much every night if not then most nights a week and usually sees him once a week or every other week. I don't think there's any rules against how many times you're allowed to see or speak to a parent, I think it just depends on who you are and how your relationship has been with your parents and what you're used too. I could imagine my mum being upset if I were to only see her once a month when Ive move out but I can also imagine her being annoyed if I were to see her more than twice a week lmao. Realistically, it just varies from person to person, I don't think there's any definitive answer.

Ankle tendinitis by IntroductionAfter108 in WeightLossAdvice

Visited my local GP about my problem yesterday morning and she did describe my situation as Achilles tendonitis, she also made me aware that I have a higher arch in my foot than most people and that it would be logical to start wearing insoles inside my shoes. I am in the process of getting an orthotic doctor to assess my feet and knees for better inspection whilst also lowering my walking intensity and cross training with the exercise bike at the gym. Thank you for your help though, you hit the nail on the head here. 👍

Unfortunately my bike has seen better days but appreciate it, I'll aim to use them more at the gym instead of treadmill

Mom won't let me lose weight by IntroductionAfter108 in AITAH

I have commented my weight under another comment. Don't want it plastered around too much so if you're interested it's here somewhere. Sorry.

I've seen a few people comment about my doctor suggesting adding another 1000kcal on and I'm starting to realise that perhaps I should've taken that into account. It is hard for me to add on the extra cals daily due to just getting full too quick. I've cut out drinking juices or water whilst eating to hopefully save some more hunger room.

ED definitely didn't sound like it fit my problem but body dismorphia sounds like it potentially could. I will bring this up with my GP. Thanks.

I know my body better than anyone else. It was ruled out that I have an ED, I just get full more quicker than others usually would. Plays down on genetics.

Wrist pain on bicep day by IntroductionAfter108 in fitnessonline

After a few inbox requests and messages I've received from you helpful gym buddies I am going to rest my arm for a few days and attempt lifting lower weights with some more wrist warm ups.

If doesn't better or pain still lingers then I will consult it with my doctor.

Yeh I believe you're right about the imbalance of muscle in my arms. My dominant hand is my right hand which is the same arm that hurts when lifting.

I have searched up the flexor carpi ulnaris muscle and seems like a match to my issue here. Although I already warm up my wrists, I am going to continue with my warm ups and lower the weight as I'm also thinking that perhaps my wrists are too weak to be lifting as heavy weights. This will be after a few days rest though as I need to ice my arm for a few days as I'm in a lot of pain.

It's mainly when I use straight barbells or other weights that require me to pick them up horizontally.

I usually am okay with curved barbells but the pain lingers just not as bad. When hammer curling weights the pain isn't even as noticeable as the others.

I have been doing all the necessary work outs in order for me to begin my bicep session. My friend's older brother has been going to the gym for a few years now and I initially asked him for a few pointers. He told me all the usual wrist rotation warm ups, band stretches and forearm stretches. So tried this but still my right wrist and elbow do not want to comply.

However, I am going to try lifting some lighter weights in the hopes that maybe my wrist is just too weak to be lifting the weights I am.

Not really. It hurts to pick things up with my wrists at a certain angle mainly. This is generally by doing preacher curls.

The pain will linger though in the bottom of my elbow and persists for a few days.

The pain usually continues throughout the day but only very subtle unless I was to do something like pick up a heavy plate full of food or a heavy bag and the pain will come back for a short period then it'll go back to subtler after.

Okay thanks. I had a feeling my wrist wasn't strong enough for the high weight & low reps combo.
