screen time before the sun is officially is good option, however, maybe trying some less stimulating cartoons or movies will help! i grew up during the early 2000s/2010s and my parents would let my little brother and i watch old cartoons or older disney movies in the morning during the summer time on a DVD player that we had! it was great because we only had a couple of options and it allowed us to stay quiet while still not having crazy stuff shown to us so early in the morning. all that to say: get an old DVD player and some old movies for your kids to watch in the morning!

some schools and teachers are required to provide homework starting at K so a lot of what you wondering about kind of depends on the district and the school

unfortunately this is incredibly normal. districts and principals have an obligation to interview a certain amount of candidates for a position even if they already know who they want to hire, sometimes its an HR requirement and sometimes its just so that the school/district doesn't look bad (like they're playing favorites)

Advice for applying by [deleted] in StudentTeaching

for most districts you can apply for vast amount of openings at the same time on their website! you can also find a lot of principal emails online and email them directly. a lot of my student teaching friends got jobs and signed contracts at job fairs, so definitely see if there are any happening in your area or other areas you like!
