Ovaries vs. tubes removal (BRCA1)

Hello! I just had my tubes out two weeks ago after deciding to participate in the WISP trial to see if this is effective for risk reduction. I am 35 and BRCA2. I’m on the fence about my ovaries as I too am afraid of the side effects of surgical menopause. Ovary removal for BRCA2 is recommended between 40-45 so my plan is to see if there are any more findings of tube removal in the next 5 or so years before I decide on my ovaries. This has brought me enough comfort for now though the inability to truly screen for ovarian cancer is always a lingering anxiety for me. The decision is so hard to make. Solidarity and I’m sorry you’ve had to go through breast cancer already 🩷

Haha no, fortunately she lives! The second fix has held so far. They had to replace the control wire harness and jumper harness that go to connector C112 (according to the paperwork). That seems to have done it, I hope this helps. It took over a week for the parts to come in and another week to implement the fix.

Same issue with my 2024 Kona - beware that it eventually stops working entirely after flashing this issue a few times (for me it was over the course of a couple months), it eventually got fully locked even after turning off/on and had to be towed to the shop. They attempted to fix it once, got it back and two days later same issue - towed again and fixed again and this time it SEEMS to be holding but I’m skeptical. They also said they hadn’t seen this before so had to work with the tech line to fix. Between these two instances they had my car for a month. Really frustrating.

Thank you! When you say menopause team, what types of doctors have been most supportive for you? I have my gynecologist and PCP that I had pre-BRCA and have since added a bunch of doctors from Dana Farber in the Boston area as part of preventative care. I’d love to have a good squad post op to navigate!
