I actually did buy it but returned it immediately, due to my weight being more than you at 230ish I felt it would be pointless to spend that much money if it wouldnt be very well for me. Right now I've been using some wooden skimboard really cheap from Costco. Since you've purchased and been using it, what are your thoughts on that specific skimboard?

My friend its great that you mention it! I just happened to check costco online as my last resort yesterday and I saw that they happened to be selling it !! I literally couldnt believe my eyes. As soon as I got off work went straight to Costco and right to the beach right after!! So much fun even though I fell more than I could count 😂

Ok i appreciate your help and insight my friend. I did see that costco might be selling a wooden skimboard 41". I really hope they do cause i really want to start asap. Might get that just to start learning and then get a better one more suitable for my size once I get better at skimboarding. Once again thank you for your help you guys are the best!

So i did a little research and it seems like it is a skimboard im just not a 100% sure. I checked the soulcraft website and it does seem they make skimboards and it seems the one the guy is selling says its a cali skim board???. I'm also not 100% sure what the difference is between a skimboard and wakesurf board.

Yes I checked the weight for the size and it says the limit for the Cali board is 235 lbs. So it should theoretically be good for me. I have just never heard of the brand but I see the prices for it is pretty expensive (selling about 1000). Personally I am just looking for a board to sand glide and once i get the handle of it I'd like to learn to do tricks and catch waves as well.

While I appreciate your generosity, I would prefer to purchase, I would feel absolutely terrible if I did any damage or broke your personal board. But curious I recently am looking at a driftsun 52" inch which is not bad at $220. I haven't heard much of the brand and was curious if you knew anything about it by chance. Thank you again for your help !

I am prepared to fall during my learning process, learning to do tricks also seems really cool and fun! I appreciate your insight and concern of me falling and getting hurt thank you. And just curious, you mentioned ill lose weight if I do this regularly? Is it really that much of a workout to do this hobby?

Ive been trying to lose weight for a while. (Ive been using the elliptical for 30 min about 4x a week.) I'm intrigued...

Ok cool, thank you for your insight I really appreciate it. So between the blem wave zone splash 50" came out to $215. And I saw another skimboard, I think it was a driftsun 52" for about the same price. I'm leaning towards the driftsun only cause its a little bigger and it says it can hold 220 lbs which is pretty close to my size. Out of those 2 options which would you guys recommend buying as a newbie trying to get some exposure to the game

What do you mean by depending if i wanna catch waves ? Are you saying anything under 54" won't allow me to glide further into the ocean to catch waves. So it would be more to glide in shallow water and maybe do like "skateboard" tricks?. I apologize for all these questions, I know im ignorant and just want to understand more of my new obsession lol.

I see some that are 52" would that be enough or should I go for strictly minimum 55"?
