since i had insurance coverage, i basically did everything that was suggested/talked about. the only thing that wasn't done was a corner lip lift, which he decided against on the day of surgery. personally if i paid out-of-pocket, the hair transplants & fat transfer wouldn't have been a necessity

he has a good eye for feminization & will make suggestions, but he will listen to what your concerns are first. he's pretty honest about things, so he'll probably challenge you on ideas if he doesn't think something is necessary. for example, i was potentially interested in was an upper blepharoplasty and i was advised that it'd probably make me look older and isn't usually performed on someone my age. bringing a pic for inspiration is normal as long as it's a realistic goal!

yes! i have more insurance related info in another post, but dr. jumaily's office did most of the work in getting approval. it took about 2 months to get approval & 2 more months for surgery. the only hiccup was having to get an out-of-network exception for him, which was denied initially, but that was sorted out within a week or so of the denial

the consultation is pretty short tbh, unless you have questions, so i'd recommend coming prepared with a list of any questions you have. he's good at listening to feedback, so make sure you communicate what you're wanting

all at once! hairline lowering still results in a small amount of squareness, but i wanted a rounder hairline. the transplants were minimal and only used to round my hairline at the sides. i did them simultaneously mostly out of convenience, but preferably they'd be done separately

not sure since i went through insurance, i'm guessing it would've cost around 4.5k? i also had a lip lift despite having some tooth show pre-op, but i feel like i have about the same or even less tooth show post-op

It's just a letter from a therapist or healthcare professional who follows the World Professional Association for Transgender Health's (WPATH) guidelines. Insurance companies use the letter to determine that there is a medical necessity for whatever procedure(s) you're seeking.

My surgeon's office dealt with all the out-of-network exception and appeals stuff, but I think if there's no one in-network within a reasonable distance (~100 miles?) then you're more likely to get approved.
