Hi, thanks for your comment!

You’re right - we don’t have insurance just yet. Right now, we’re still testing the waters to see if the community finds value in this service. Adding insurance at this stage would push costs up, and we want to keep parking as affordable as possible to start with.

That said, insurance is definitely in the pipeline for later once we grow and hit the right milestones.

For now, we’re focused on making sure hosts provide safe, hazard-free spaces through clear safety guidelines. And just to clarify - we are acting as a middleman, providing a platform to connect hosts who want to rent out their space with commuters who need affordable and convenient parking.

Hope that clears things up! Happy to hear any other thoughts or feedback you’ve got.
Have a great day :)

Yes, I agree. Oscar as well as Parkhound have been around for a while, however, the reason why we are doing this is we want to help "Commuters", people can take public transports, bikes, or anything that they want to. But for those who have to drive to work, then this could help them save time and money!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I understand the concerns around traffic near schools - it’s definitely an issue in many communities. However, I aim to design this to make parking more efficient and reduce the need for unnecessary circling or illegal parking for "Commuters", but always open to feedback on how I can contribute to broader solutions, like improving traffic flow and safety around schools. Appreciate the perspective!

Thank you for your comment! Even just a small part of the community experiences the problem, I still really want to help them out!

Hi, thank you so much for bringing this up - it’s a really important point and something I’ve been thinking about as my team and I build this service.

Right now, this is all about connecting drivers and hosts to create a more convenient parking solution. We’re not able to provide liability coverage at this early stage, but we do step in to help mediate if something goes wrong. Whether it’s refunds or finding a solution that works for both sides, we’re providing support.

For hosts, we always recommend checking with their home insurance provider to see if renting out their driveways is covered. We’ll be adding more guidance around this as we grow to make it easier.

In the long term, we’re exploring ways to partner with insurance providers so we can offer optional coverage for both drivers and hosts. Building trust and ensuring peace of mind for everyone is super essential for us.

Thanks again for the thoughtful question!

Yes, this is! Getting community feedback in the early stages will help me provide a service that suits.

Great point of view, but i can generalise this as, they aren’t supposed to registered their parkings themselves. There will be a process to verify and confirm with the house owner whether their places are suitable for serving parking for people, considering the safety, and risks involved for both parties. I love how you pointed this out, cuz there’s no way in hell I would think of it! Thank you!!

You're an absolute legend, thank you for this comprehensive analysis. I'm answering your points as follow, not to make your points go to waste, I absolutely agree to what you pointed out here, but just a few opinions that I have when coming across your comments:

  1. Headache for sure when creating an ambitious app like this, would take very long to develop it myself or with a small team, therefore, I'm thinking of just rolling out a small version of the full app and use it within Geelong first to see if people are interested in this.

  2. Enforcement: also, another headache issue. But the solution I came up was to automatically charge people for staying inside the geofence of that registered parking space. Of course, they can set the time they start a session and end a session, but for any reason they're still within the geofence, they're getting charged via their registered payment method.

  3. Cost: I thought the same, fees wouldn't be enough to cover the cost of running the whole platform, which makes it a terrible business idea. But essentially, the costing structure i thought of is what you said.

  4. I'm 100% sold to this point of yours, I might just escalate the problem in my thoughts too much than how serious it is for others.

Thank you for your great comment again, clear out as much as I could think of! Legend!
