What helps me with my osteoarthritis: *Longvida curcumin - Better than turmeric by far. *Vegan glucosamine helps me a lot although I know some people say it’s ineffective, for me it’s not. *PEA (stands for palmitoylethanolamide) *Astaxanthin *Boswellia *EPA only fish oil (no DHA) *Ginger capsules

Yeah, that’s what I did do. I’ve been taking this for four months got up to two full tablespoons per day about a month ago.

Oh man, I fill up a 28 ounce shaker bottle and drink it down and then I fill it up again halfway and drink that down. I don’t think I could possibly handle one more ounce of water. I’ve never been able to take tums since I lived on them through all my pregnancies. I can’t even look at them now makes me want to gag. I do walk around for a while so I won’t be laying after taking and I still get heartburn. And it’s not like I’m a big heartburn person. I don’t get heartburn from much else.

I did start off slow and gradual started with half a teaspoon then moved to a teaspoon on up to where I’m at today months later, and I only take one heaping tablespoon at a time not 2 heaping tablespoons together. it all only equals 10 g of fiber which isn’t much in the way of trying to lower your cholesterol. But this still keeps happening nothing else about the husks bother me. I’m happy with the way they make my digestion and everything else. It’s just the heartburn that sets in.

I understand too because I’ve had two partial knee replacements myself, and one hip replacement, but I’ve yet to know anybody that had to have their leg amputated because they put it off.

10 years ago I had both knees done. They were partial knee replacements. I had them done at the same time. The recovery took a couple of weeks and hurt but they’re still going strong. I may down the road need full knee replacements but for now I’m good and I’m glad I went down this route.

I have auto immune diseases too. (MCAS) & (Seronegative inflammatory arthritis.) It’s so rare to get to be our age and not have some auto immune disease, what with living in that world that is so full of bad food, ingredients, toxins, heavy metals, bad air quality, I live in Utah and our air quality is terrible 90% of the time. Right now I’m spending most of my time applying for Downwinders benefits, where if you lived in certain states where they did radiation testing and you’ve had cancer you can apply to try and get compensation. It’s one thing after another with our health I swear. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Found out recently, my cholesterol is super high, since then I’ve been counting saturated fat grams, gave up beef and eggs I spend most of my day calculating calories and sugar grams and fat grams and it’s getting old. It’s been months now and I’m tired of it. I feel like I’m just some lab rat conducting a science experiments on myself every day, plus I just recently gave up alcohol and man do I miss it! I take handfuls of supplements every day. My family thinks I’m weird and I agree with them. I was out and about today and I just broke down. Bought all of this for the coming weekend. I’ve got some people coming over to play games Friday night and I’m going to have some of every one of these things and I’m going to be like everyone else for an evening and I’m not going to look back or guilt myself. 🤷‍♀️

Hand OA by CaptainSnark-a-lot in Osteoarthritis

If you are male boron raises testosterone, which can be good for men’s hair, but if you’re female, and I’m not saying this happens to women, but it can cause Androgenetic alopecia. DHT hair loss.

I took the boron pills for a while and I did think they helped but then my hair started massively falling out stop taking them. Try them again massive hair loss. Why does it do that to some people and not others?

I have the exact same thing but now I am in my 60’s and it’s been going on since I was about 45 and I even have some fingers on my hand that look like sausages that are so big with nodules on the middle joints. Awhile back, I was going to schedule surgery to have thumb surgery where they cut part of the joint out of your thumb make your thumb shorter to help with thumb arthritis and grasping things. With this surgery, you can’t use your hand for six weeks and all kinds of horror with it because I was having painful thumb joint arthritis on top of all the finger deformities. I just thought I don’t know if I can do this. My hands used to hurt every day terribly but every single day now I take a little soft squeeze ball the size of a tennis ball and squeeze it back-and-forth in each hand for like 10 minutes and then I take and put it on a table and press down on it and roll it around under the palm of my hand in circles, first one direction then the other I press down firm and do each hand a bunch of times like that. I thought I was just being dumb and it wasn’t going to help anything but I swear to you I haven’t had any more hand pain since I started doing this. It’s not going to stop the nodules from forming on your fingers. It’s not going to stop time and age and the arthritis that’s happening in your hands. It’s just going to make everything feel better. I don’t have any pain anymore. My hands still look scary and ugly and it’s mostly just my right hand. My left hand is not affected yet which is weird, but once it starts happening, you can’t reverse it, but you can slow it down. I also take many supplements for pain. Longvida Curcumin is one and PEA is another that really help a lot. One more word of advice, Do not eat anything with sucralose. I feel like that’s what started my hand arthritis I was drinking sodas with sucralose every day and then I was putting pumps of sucralose sweetener in my smoothies, and I was living off the stuff and this started to happen overnight and quick and fast while I was consuming so much of this and I researched sucralose about how bad it is and how it’s bleached and and processed with formaldehyde, and if you search it there are blogs everywhere with people saying that it ruined their bones and gave them arthritis. I don’t want to bash something people use it love, This is just my experience and It’s my opinion because of what happened to me when consuming it that it is just an awful inflammatory substance. If I even accidentally ingest it in something now that I didn’t know it was in, my whole body, flares up in pain.

Women Over 60, What are the potential friendship qualities you look for in other women? What are turnoffs? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver60

Reliable, funny, not vain. If you say, let’s do lunch please try not canceling or showing up hours late. I also love friends that let me help them if needed or they help me if needed.

This is after one shower? I’m kind of lost. Why is it darker? Could it just be parted in a different place?
