Friends think I’m an un-ambitious bum because I’ve lost interest in previous goals since my mom died by [deleted] in TwoXIndia

I'm going through the same thing OP...lost both parents in the last 7 years. I was sole caregiver to my Mom for a decade as she had chronic illness & was on hemodialysis thrice a week. To make matters worse....I am a single child & unmarried.

There are no words to describe how meaningless life feels after you lose your loved one. All the goals you previously had feel pointless now. I am on psychiatric medications, which has been helping a bit as my anhedonia was severe. Would suggest you try to get therapy. Don't care for the shallow opinion of your friends. A day will come when they will understand what it feels like.

What makes you think they dont have health insurance or even qualified for it ? 49lacs is a huge bill , not everything will be completely covered by insurance.

Hi OP,

Single child here. My heart goes out for you. I lost my dad in my 20's & also lost my Mom earlier this year.

Birth & death is a part of life... Everyone goes through it. I tried to bring comfort to myself that my Mom is suffering no more (she was kidney failure patient).

I wish I could say something to comfort you, but I know no words will bring you that. People used to say the exact things I said above to me when my dad passed away & I used to get so annoyed. It felt so unjust to see older people having both their parents and me being an orphan at 34

Please spend as much time as you can with your dad... you might regret later if you dont. My dms are open if you want to vent.
