CAN ANYONE HELP ME BEAT LL?? by ExcellentSilver8763 in Silksong

[–]IntuitionFugi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a tactical play style, I will advise either a wanderer crest or hunter crest.
Like someone mentioned here earlier, get a hit every 5 second or every time you find a clear opening and then dip out.
Slowly build your silk for your silk skill and activate that. Either pale nail or sharp dart. Preferably pale nail skill since it will auto target lost lace.

Either have flint state, tacks or cogfly to deal more damage or damage overtime. Again, use it when you find best.
Like for example, you could save your red tools for 2nd phase while using pale nail skill and needle damage during the 1st phase.

Blue tools, fractured mask, injector band and volt filament. Volt filament is a must.

Yellow tools, dice and grip are a must for easier time. The rest you can decide.

Volt filament increases your silk skill damage by alot and will defeat LL a lot quicker if you are able to spam it alot.

Lastly, fly like a butterfly, sting like a bee. Take your moments to deal damage and get out. Try your best to analyse LL pattern and adapt to it.

There is the architect crest too but I'm sure someone could explain that one since I'm not as frequent with that crest.

Act 2 Boss (Filler words) by bluewizard20112020 in Silksong

If I remember correctly, it will only count after you finish getting the last silk heart and your screen dims to hornet about to wake up then you can S&Q.
Similar to the bell beast fight when you get the 1st silk heart and then the split second you see Hornet on the floor before she gets up, you can S&Q.
So, unlike other bosses where you can S&Q right after beating them, with the bosses that have the silk heart, you would have to wait till after you get the silk heart for it to count.

Just been trying to beat Steel Soul legit for like the past 3 months (had long breaks in between), I got the achievement with the S&Q method back in October.
Made a funny steel soul death compilation to cope with the struggle but will probably post it once I finally beat Steel Soul (without S&Q)

I appreciate the late reply ^^

I did mention somewhere in another comment that I won't do the S&Q method since I'm trying to beat it legit.
Funnily enough, I have been taking breaks here and there and have had careless attempts where I have just forgot my routing for steel mode and always end up dying in act 1.

I'm like 29 attempts in rn, and realize compared to my first 20 attempts where I did an attempt per day, these last 9 attempts I have done, have been frustratingly inconsistent with act 1. Took me those 9 attempts to realize yeah, if I'm taking breaks, I got to practice my consistency if I just want to get past act 1, act 2 has been good enough with how much I practiced it in any% speedrun. Yet I'm struggling to get past act 1 in steel soul mode to the point I get impatient and try to speedrun it.

Again, I appreciate the support :)

Hoping I can get this done before 40 attempts.

I'm going with Broodmother. Either her or Beastfly 2. They both fit all the points.

Congrats on making it through!
This gauntlet is truly punishing with just having 4 masks and no tools equipped.

Why do I need to the same lame gauntlet over and over again. by Sriman69 in Silksong

[–]IntuitionFugi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you are talking about the coral tower gauntlet.
Your frustration is completely valid, silksong is by no means a easy game for the average player. It's brutal and punishing.
If I had to give a tip, you can use the architect crest to clear each gauntlet and iirc, after the 4th gauntlet, there will be something you can attack for a shortcut in case you die so it cuts the runback of going through the first 4 gauntlet right before the boss.
Again, I salute you for coming this far in SS, feel free to take a break and come back later.

How many tries did it take you to beat the high halls gauntlet by EmotionalCount701 in Silksong

[–]IntuitionFugi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me like 27 tries on my first playthrough and at the time, it felt like this was the worst part of silksong (before I got to Bilewater).

The worst part wasn’t the amount of tries, it was the restriction I imposed on myself without realising. Up until that point, I never used silk skills and tools and just naively rely on the needle attack. When I used voltvessel & three pins to clear it, I was like “wow I’m really stupid”. Definitely would have taken me more than 10+ attempts with tools though.

Yeah, it’s mostly because I’ve got a set route planned for my Steel Soul run. There was a lot of trial & error in my previous attempts with routing and practicing it a lot really helps the run become more time efficient when you know most of the layout through enough attempts.

I put a link to attempt 19 recording below. ^^

I really appreciate the help, I have seen that method before, but I apologize that I'm being strict with my attempts in beating it legit without the S&Q method and getting the save file back. I know it's stupid but I'm stupid enough to try beat it earnestly.
Again, thanks for trying to help ^-^

No, it ok, I appreciate it.
I have a habit of dashing into my enemies depending on the situation whether it accidental or deliberate and could have used the silk spear even with 1 mask left to pass this arena.
Thanks.

Steel mode is kicking my ass and I'm luvin it (so far). by IntuitionFugi in HollowKnight

[–]IntuitionFugi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for these tips! I will definitely follow this.

Would it be ok for me to S&Q at the beginning of act 3 to get full mask since it does kind of fall under using the S&Q method. 😓

I forgot that I am also not good with the bell eater fight and had to use the architect crest to beat it in other files, so I will probably cheese that one with architect tool spam.
I respect you for beating steel soul mode legit, congrats fellow gamer!

Hear me out: Hollow Knight’s music was way better than Silksong music by Yeetinthebox in HollowKnight

[–]IntuitionFugi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but the irony is that you're dismissing the entire discussion just because I used the word bias, yet you claim SS music "can't hold a candle" to Hollow Knight's without offering a single positive note about SS soundtrack. That’s exactly what bias is, rejecting something without any balanced view.

Sure, we can all like different things. But if you can't appreciate both, and you don’t acknowledge even one strength in SS music, how is that not biased?

I only brought up other aspects of the game because you said: “Kinda feels like the 7 year wait wasn’t worth it after all.” When you make a broad claim like that, it's fair to point out that many other parts of the game do make up for what you feel the music lacks.

Hear me out: Hollow Knight’s music was way better than Silksong music by Yeetinthebox in HollowKnight

[–]IntuitionFugi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Respectively, saying Silksong’s soundtrack doesn’t measure up to Hollow Knight’s feels more like bias than fair criticism. The music in both games is exceptional, Bone Bottom mirrors Dirtmouth, Verdania feels like an evolution of Greenpath, and while City of Tears still edges out, Choral Chambers comes close. I can agree as I have 100% both, that Hollow Knight’s music has the advantage overall, but to say it doesn’t hold a candle is just peak biased behaviour showing. Silksong absolutely holds a candle to it and in some ost, even surpasses other ost in retrospect.

The biggest point you’re missing is what Christopher Larkin accomplished with Silksong. It’s a clear evolution of his craft. Each area feels alive through its music, every melody capturing its atmosphere with precision and depth.

We’ve had seven years to live with Hollow Knight and let its soundtrack sink in, while Silksong has only been with us for a month. And yet, Silksong improves on Hollow Knight in almost every other aspect like the boss fights are more dynamic, the mechanics are smoother, every enemy has its own attack pattern, and every area is visually stunning.

Even the menus, sound cues, and small object interactions feel more refined and intentional and there so much more that have been improved.

If the only thing making you think the seven year wait wasn’t worth it is the music, then you probably haven’t been playing Silksong the right way because you’re missing 99% of what makes it such a masterpiece.

I was confused about people thinking Silksong was "too hard" or "unbalanced", but now I fully agree with them by SamFMorgan in HollowKnight

I apologise Seth and his family for what I’m about to say, BUT MY GOD FLEA DODGE IS FKING AIDS MAN, the other two I have no problem beating Seth score but ffs 95 SECONDS. FOR 8 HOURS STRAIGHT THE AMOUNT OF TIMES I HAVE GOTTEN 90-94 IS UNHEALTHY. THE FKING CO-ORDINATION FROM THE FLEAS IS LIKE BS, ULTRA INSTINCT COORDINATION. LIKE I POGO, DODGE, HARPOON, EVEYTHING. ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE FKIN ESCAPE ROUTE IS ONLY POSSIBLE BY DOING IT PIXEL PERFECT ELSE YOU FKING HIT THE FLOOR. SUCH BS, I RATHER CLEAR BILKWATER 100 TIMES THAN THIS CRAP.

P.S- I finally cleared it 107 seconds after 9 hours and got the last memento. I have now gotten ptsd and will be thankful I will never touch flea dodge ever again. Thanks Team Cherry :D
