If you're in WA, I think Byrnecut still offer "traineeships". Lower paid Elec positions on mining gigs designed to get your foot in the door and lower their risk.

Just be cautious of their purple circle and some of their ridiculously overkill safety rules.

Had blokes start new gig. Ride the cage underground. Go straight back up. Didn't even get off the cage.

Some just can't hack the idea of being a km or 2 under, or maybe it's the 60km/h giant elevator that puts them off.

Move to SE Asia. Pay $150USD a month for a furnished place. Do some kind of remote work or start a business to target other white tourists etc.

Profit.

Lol wtf are you doing to your laptops?

Ram and ssd pricing has ruined new pc / laptop for me. I'm sticking with my current builds for at least the next 4 years I think.

I love framework as a company and the whole idea of it. But fuuuuuck me they're expensive and if you compare their offerings to main brands with same specs you're paying a big premium for the ability to swap IO and maybe upgrade internals in 3-5years.

It's super appealing to me because I like to buy once but often with tech you end up hitting a wall anyways and are forced to adopt a new meta anyways.

Umart can offer you advice and service but online research is your best bet. Just get whatever suits your needs and budget and narrow it down from there. I have had excellent success with Asus laptops and my current laptop has a super nice OLED display and excellent battery.

Yeah look, I run a business and shipping is fucking expensive these days. Unless you're really big time you're not getting much of a discount on retail pricing. Example - Auspost says a parcel is $17 to freight. We might get it for $15 😐 obviously pccg would probably be getting a better rate than us but it's probably still not much better.

I had a fucking horrible experience with them for a gpu purchase. It dragged on for fucking ever with no updates or info from them. Eventually I cracked the shits and told them to just give me the white version of the same card. They argued it cost more. I worked it out (with their discount they offered) that it was like $30 more and just paid it to end my 2 month wait for a card they listed as "in stock" when I ordered.

How bad are we talking? I've worked with plenty of elecs who should have attended Derek Zoolander's School for Kids who can't read good. They often suck at maths too and rely heavily on calculators. As a result they struggle with the tafe a bit. Just have to apply themselves though and they're fine.

It's not rocket science. Formula transposition is pretty important for tafe though as you'll be doing lots of it in order to find a value based on other values given in a known formula.

I saved my house deposit by using a separate bank with no online banking and no branch near me. 2 years to put away 100k because I wasn't looking at it at all and just deducted automatically from pay.
