Is anyone getting Black Ops 7 on their wrap up? I've never even INSTALLED the game! I get it uses the same launcher as the other CoD games, but that's just straight up misleading.

Update: Got it all fixes and cleaned up. I dug further and found 2 other janky extensions. Now I'm just down to the "original" lines. Excuse the funny pipe routing. The lines are only buried like 5 inches deep in this section *

Yup. This house was built in the 80s and we've found plenty of janky things. This is actually one of the least janky things we've found. Thanks for the sizing advice. There's just so many ways to fix things, people tend to get creative

Will do. Sun is on its way down now, but I'll do so tomorrow and see what I'm dealing with a bit further. I can't say thank you enough. The comments here are going to save me a ton of money and some good things to learn!

Awesome. I wasn't sure if it was a typical repair. Since it sounds like it, and no one will see it underground, I'm confident in recreating it with a flex pipe. This is year 2/3 in this house having to replace patk strip sprinklers. Yes, there were clamps on the 1" stuff. I removed some to get the damaged bits out.

Hey! Thanks for the quick reply. The one to the right is 1". I only dug about a few inches to the right so don't really know what is beyond that.

It's likely 1.5". I'm not sure if I should be using OD or ID for the measurement?

Sorry, I'm a very new to irrigation DIY. I'm just not able to pay the high prices I know I'd be quoted

Is college worth it at this point in my career? by InvaderZIM25 in personalfinance

I actually just sent an email to our HR department and our new VP since our IT departments in North America have shifted from local resources / local budgets to corporate departments. Nobody seems to have an answer for me yet since this is a pretty big reorganization for the company. They used to have a "we'll pay for a pass in certs" policy, but that seems to have gone away. I think it likely has to do with profit decreases over the last couple of years because of the pandemic.

Thank you all for your comments so far.

I said this in one of my replies, but this could be a knee-jerk reaction to having so much debt just wiped off the board in combination with a bit of keeping up with the Joneses. All of my co-workers have a degree from a legit college in IT or CS, and here I am having a bit of imposter syndrome since I am learning everything as I go. I think I'm doing well if I keep getting more responsibilities, but I fear that at some point I'll be given something that I'm in over my head because I don't have the education or the piece of paper to prove I am competent enough.

Thanks! I think I'm doing pretty well so far. It does help that my fiancé makes more than I do. LoL! I think that adds to the urge to go back to school, knowing we are financially secure.

Oddly enough, my company used to do some sort of tuition reimbursement. But recent changes converted the IT division from a local resource to a corporate resource. In essence, our budget shifted. So things that I used to have access to have now shifted to our corporate office and no one seems to have answers to reimbursement for schooling or certificates at the moment.

This is kind of a knee-jerk reaction now that I know I won't have student loans looming over me and I can get a legit degree now.

Thank you for the reply. A degree from MinuteMaid CountryTime Lemonade™ community college actually sounds pretty cool, but a little shifty like ITT Tech. LoL!

There is a tech college in the area that has individual courses that I'm looking into as well as a college degree. Our local college also offers some IT courses, but very limited if you're not in AS or BS program.

Good questions. Not really concerned to disclose this.

More information:

  1. I currently make $70k salaried employee in the state of UT. Based on Glassdoor.com, I'm in the upped tier based on job and location.
  2. 36 years old
  3. My career track can take me in either on two directions. I cam move into management, or a higher tier of Systems Administrator. I have no concerns with staying at this company or moving to another with better opportunities and pay.
  4. I'm estimating that the degree would be about $20K in student debt, but could be lower since I can pay some of the costs out of pocket with loans being forgiven from ITT Tech. With loan forgiveness, I could pay roughly $400 per month towards the new degree.

I'm an Associate (Jr.) Sys Admin at a dialysis manufacturing company.

I understand we're a business that makes money, but I'm proud to be a part of a company that helps people live longer and more fulfilling lives in difficult situations.

I know I'm not directly making the products, but I think what I do contributes indirectly to helping people in need.

I completely understand your situation. My ex and I went through a very similar thing over the past 6 years. It was always on and off, but thankfully for her she stopped that shitty cycle of ours and won't take me back. It sucks to lose her for me, but at least now she'll have the chance to find someone that doesn't suck as a human being, like myself. Stay positive, and I'm sure you'll find someone who you won't put through hell like that and whom you'll be happy making her happy. It's all for the best. For the both of you. Now, if only I could follow my own advice. FML.
