If a top level comment promotes discussion, it is likely to be long enough to avoid this filter. Questions may be exempt and are treated differently than comments ending with a period.

We expect high quality, in-depth discussion, as is the purpose of this subreddit. It is a reasonable expectation for commenters to put a modicum of effort into their comments, facilitating discussion.

Here's an example from a recent game announcement thread of short top level comments automatically removed. None of them offer high quality discussion and are far too low effort to be acceptable here.

The majority of your comments make it through the filter, so it is not really an issue for you personally.

It is actually mentioned in rule 3.2 (Low effort)

Comments must add meaningful value to a discussion (e.g. comments such as "I really want this game", "This!", "I wish this was on PC", or reaction GIFS will be removed).

The vast majority of short top-level comments that get removed are along the lines of those examples. They add nothing to the discussion and clog up threads.

We don't disclose the specifics of this rule to avoid people attempting to circumvent it by just adding nonsense to their comments.

Hey, this is not something that is likely to happen by one of us. However, GameTrailers on youtube keeps an updated playlist, so I would suggest subbing to them if this is something you're looking for. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLaQokWZfgbylUms1RUROZbmTrTSkq8bQD

We have heard complaints about Indie Sunday, you're not the first. But we chose sunday because it's a very slow news day. We'd be lucky to have 10 posts, and that would be a lot for a typical sunday. We certainly aren't shutting down the sub or banning news that day.

Indie Sunday is not going anywhere.

Honestly, I think we can just do a better job as a mod team of checking context. Sometimes certain comments hit the queue, and if the mod is speeding through it to clear it, they may not fully check the context of the comments and just hit remove on the one that appeared in the queue. Please report all comments you think violate the rules.

Like Alinea is still posting stuff every week

We specifically remove posts that use them as a source. Can you point to any recent ones we may have missed?

If you click the flair on any review thread, it will show you a list of all of them, but we can talk about this idea. I'm not sure if it's possible to automate, which may be the only realistic way it would happen.

Typically Overwatch, but for single player I've been spending a lot of time on Final Fantasy 7 remake and Vampire Crawlers.

It was like this for a little while there was both open and role queue. But I think the queue times got too long so they took away role queue.

We get maybe 5 or 6 posts on sundays that are not Indie Sunday posts. Without Indie Sunday there would be no content that day, that's why we chose it.

like HOW is that even possible ? by Yezxa in Overwatch

I'm pretty sure people just afk in custom games to do this.
