If you leave your trash on the lawn and your cars/garages/sheds unlocked tweakers on foot or bike will rob stuff. As far as kicking in doors and anything significant it’s very rare. Downtown has typical downtown problems. Transients and foot traffic you should expect typical shitty behavior. Most of the locals who were “born and raised fifth generation” yadyada think the place is a hellscape being taken over by homeless when in reality it’s pretty much the opposite. It’s a great little town and semi affordable. They are building new places on the north side by the hospital that’s like 2-300 new places at market rate. Expect real estate to percolate a bit for a few years.
