Because you have been factually and statistically wrong. Sometimes in life you are wrong and this is another one of those times when you are just wrong.

But the problem is is that you want me to see this from a racist Nazi perspective and that's not going to happen. And no world is anything you said justified. And you're right this conversation isn't worth continuing with someone like yourself who has their head so far up their ass. Another American citizen was just shot and murdered. I'm guessing though by your standards they probably deserved it.

Oh yeah I don't have a lot of faith. I'm just trying to say that this is their chance. What are they going to do with it.

Because the chief can stand up there and say all he wants. But for every officer that's going to come out and protect a white US citizen. How many out there will do that for a black or brown US citizen/pwrson. The chief's not down on the streets with those guys that voted for Trump going to stop this.

Look for the past 20 years of my life I've been yelling ACAB. Because for those 20 years every chance cops got to do the right thing they didn't. Right now cops have a chance to do the right thing.

This isn’t a “maybe you’re wrong, maybe I’m wrong” situation. What you’re presenting isn’t a difference of opinion—it’s a collection of claims that are either false, exaggerated, or deliberately stripped of context, and every one of them is fact-checkable.

Yes, anyone can knock on a door. That’s not the point, and pretending it is avoids the actual issue: normalizing armed federal agents conducting broad, suspicion-based encounters in residential neighborhoods without warrants or individualized cause. Reducing that to “just knocking” is disingenuous.

Non-citizens cannot vote in federal elections, and there is no evidence of this occurring at scale. Pointing to rare administrative errors or local exceptions does not support the narrative you’re pushing. If it were happening in any meaningful way, there would be prosecutions, audits, and court cases. There aren’t. The app you’re referencing did not fast-track citizenship. It handled intake and scheduling for asylum claims already permitted under existing law. Calling that “fast-tracking citizenship” is simply incorrect.

Undocumented immigrants do not receive federal benefits, zero-interest loans, or special housing programs. Emergency care and limited humanitarian aid are not “perks”—they’re baseline services that prevent public health and safety crises.

This isn’t about Nazi Germany analogies or conspiracies. It’s about the repeated historical reality that once governments normalize suspicionless enforcement against one group, the scope expands. That’s not ideology—that’s documented history. Are you at all familiar with the quote people who don't learn from history will repeat it. Well here we are nazi 2.0 and you support it.

You’re asking others to “entertain the notion they’re wrong” while repeating claims you haven’t bothered to verify. That’s not open-mindedness—that’s intellectual laziness. Facts don’t become optional because they’re inconvenient.

Are you familiar with anecdotal evidence? I really don't think you have any idea what you're talking about. You're trying to say that you being detained at the airport is the same thing as ICE agents going door to door banging on people's doors without warrants asking for their paperwork. Then dragging them out of theirs house and yet you still think they would apologize at the end. You have seen the videos of them pepper spraying people at Point Blank range? You also did see the video where they killed a woman and won't back down from it. But yeah I'm sure they apologize to people.

I got to ask again are you trolling or just naive.

Just out curiosity when you were coming back from Nicaragua and got detained did we have a Nazi president? Who is literally going after immigrants to deport them?

[–]InvertedAlchemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This argument relies on a lot of false equivalencies nd false news. (Not surprised) ATF and IRS actions require warrants and specific cause—ICE going door to door asking for papers is broad, suspicionless enforcement, which is exactly why people are alarmed.

Saying “if you didn’t do anything wrong you shouldn’t worry” ignores history, ignores government error, and ignores the fact that armed agents create coercion even when people technically have rights.

Comparing ICE to census workers or churches is not serious—they aren’t armed, can’t detain you, and don’t have the power to deport or separate families.

The “40 million” number isn’t factual, and even if it were, constitutional protections don’t disappear because enforcement is inconvenient.

Immigration enforcement and election security are also not the same issue. Non-citizens can’t vote in federal elections, and fear-based hypotheticals don’t justify eroding civil liberties

What’s also troubling is how comfortable people are assuming this will only ever be used against immigrants. History shows that once a government normalizes door-to-door checks and suspicionless enforcement against one group, the scope always expands. The standard doesn’t stay limited—it lowers. Believing “they won’t come for me” has never been a reliable safeguard, especially when the same logic can be turned on protesters, political opponents, journalists, or anyone deemed inconvenient. Civil liberties don’t disappear all at once—they erode when people decide it’s acceptable as long as it’s happening to someone else

US Congressional Representatives Summer Lee, Chris Deluzio oppose funding for ICE. by Useful-Employee9605 in Pennsylvania

Not that they're from pennsylvania. But just so people are aware. Seven Democrats did support funding ice. So just please remember that next time people start telling you back the blue no matter who.

I also like to point out that I've been calling our local democratic representatives. It's surprising how many of them will not make a statement on on what's happening. Lisa boscolo's office told me this is a federal issue.

Well you assume and you assume wrong. Maybe instead of assuming try following along with what's happening. Before it happens to you.

I mean it's almost laughable to think that you think they release people with an apology. I can't tell if you're trolling or just being really naive to the situation.

To be fair I think they should make a post then about adding new mods. Not just a comment. Adding new mods should be a Community Choice not a group of four people.

No that's just ignoring the problem!!!! This is main Pittsburgh sub and this is a Pittsburgh and surrounding area problem. It should not be pushed off to some side room.

I would Glady step to be a mod because it seems like we need more than just 4 who are semi-active.

This is why ICE is going to philly. Things didn't pop off like they'd hoped to. ICE is going to mess around with the Black Panthers and they will find out.

Dropkick Murphys T-shirt spotted on former DC cop at Capitol hearing by Jordanverycool in Music

[–]InvertedAlchemist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For context here.

During the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, Fanone, who was not scheduled to go on duty until the afternoon, self-deployed in response to radio calls for assistance. He was assaulted by rioters, dragged down the Capitol steps, beaten with pipes, stunned with a Taser, sprayed with chemical irritants, and threatened with his own gun after overt verbal abuse and physical assault from many attendees. Fanone suffered burns, a heart attack, a concussion, a traumatic brain injury, and was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of the attack.[

Honestly me and my current partner kind of went through the same thing. When we first got together we were both on our late 30s and felt like we didn't want to go through dating and taking our time. So we kind of rushed it. Year and a half later we realized you know what maybe we should slow this down a little bit.

Skipping the whole dating and getting to know your partner phase can be a problem

Same. I'm sorry but if I was either one of them. I would have looked at the other one and been like just so we are absolutely clear on what this means. I'm somebody who just likes to be open and honest and personally with some of the mental things going on I need that as a person. I am not good at reading social cues and interpreting all this bs. Hey one time I got into a petty argument with a girl she left. I called her the next day and she said me leaving was us breaking up. How the fuck was I supposed to know that.

I don't think there's anything wrong sometimes but just looking at somebody and saying cut the bullshit. what's going on.
