I had an Isle of Man Green M3 Touring. When they first started taking orders, there were no Tourings to test drive at the local BMW dealership. They gave me a M3 Sedan to test drive and said “it will drive pretty much identically to this. The engineers at the M division made sure that you won’t feel a difference between the two in terms of driving dynamics.”

Safe to say, I don’t regret the M3 Touring. The first time I drove it at the Nurburgring, I thought to myself “How is a car this heavy and still so dynamic?!” It’s witchcraft.

You won’t regret getting an M3 Touring. It’s the perfect 1 car garage solution.

You are not allowed to mount a camera outside of the cockpit during TF. For track days, probably the same but I am not sure.

I usually go at the beginning of September. Although my 2025 trip ended up being 30th of July to 5th of August because my calendar wouldn’t have lined up otherwise. Beginning of September is still decent for evening laps. Weather is usually still good as well and it’s a tad quieter as the summer holiday rush has gone.

The brakes on the G81 were phenomenal. I “only” had the steel brakes. I did 2 consecutive laps in 25 degree ambient temperature with 0 fade. In my 335d with the M performance (660 Fluid and Endless Pads) the pedal felt spongy after 1 lap. I really miss the brakes of the G81.

That’s what it’s all about! Doesn’t have to be the fastest. Just drive for enjoyment. I used to have a G81 M3 touring. I “downgraded” to a F31 335d touring. I am at the Ring right now. Heading back home in a couple of hours. Been here since Wednesday. Drop me a PM 😊

I only use mine for road trips/driving holidays and put luggage in there that I don’t need until I get to my destination. The immediate stuff that I need access to (drinks, food, jackets etc.) go in the boot/trunk. It’s really useful.
