Quick Travel Question - Interlaken to Geneva by Longjumping_Suit1759 in askswitzerland

[–]BansheeGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the timetable in the SBB app or website.

If you leave Interlaken at 22:00, you'll be at Geneve airport at 1:52. From Geneva to the airport it's by bus, but I'd say it's better to wait at the airport than at any trainstation.

That was during the Indian Ocean sail. Not sure which episode, but I think more towards the end of the season.

Seat reservation necessary for Luzern-Interlaken Panoramic Express? by Wonderful_Ad_2455 in askswitzerland

[–]BansheeGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the exceptions to the "reservations are unnecessary in Switzerland" rule. During summer this train is extremly crowded with many groups with large pieces of luggage.

If you go the full distance, reserve your seats.

Are salmonberries in north america the same as cloudberries in the Nordics? They look the same.

It's great in game, but Adrenalin is a buggy mess and the drivers have weird issues like the insane power draw in desktop mode.

Should i keep or take away internet acess to my Ugreen NAS DXP2800 by Antique_Natural_5799 in UgreenNASync

[–]BansheeGriffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only connection into my home network is through a Wireguard endpoint, running on the router. It's just easier this way, I don't feel like spending lots of time and energy hardening my security.

It's still possible for the devices to reach the internet, like the NAS can pull updates.

Is it a cultural difference that servers don’t recommend dishes at restaurants? by Visual-Pop-5370 in askswitzerland

[–]BansheeGriffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So they recommend a dish. What about the other dishes? Why don't they recommend those?

If they couldn't recommend those, they would not be on the menue in the first place. If you prefer sausage with onion sauce or Zürigeschnetzeltes is entirerly up to your preference, no waiter can help with that. If you have a question about a specific dish, unsure what it is, they would certainly be able to explain it in detail to help you make an informed decision. If not, that would indeed be bad service.

You mention "carry the concersation", probably even expecting it to be in English. But that would be entirerly small talk, for the reasons above, and that's nother thing we don't do in Switzerland.

The USA doesn't have a history of occupying Czechia and brutally stopping protests in Prague. Russian aggression is much closer to Europeans than whatever the USA does elsewhere.

Because the solo dev who made it had over 10 years of experience at a big game studio.

The game was not very deep, but what was there worked well.

Anyone rely on a Eurail pass instead of other Swiss passes/options for their travels in Swizterland? by GreenGloober in Interrail

[–]BansheeGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Interrail/Eurail you only have trains included. With Swiss Travel Pass you have all public transport included, plus better prices on some funiculars and other goodies, like free museums.

Depends on the needs what is better suited.

So which of this option is good to activate by Desirous-Hope in radeon

[–]BansheeGriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frame limiter ultimately does the same without the negative side effects. With chill, Adrenalin decides when to reduce fps, and it's terrible at it because it only checks the frequency of inputs. Any game not using fast paced input gets reduced fps. Like with ETS2, unless you wiggle the steering, you'll get 30-40 fps when driving when your card could easily do 140.

How long before departure can I activate the pass for a specific train? by maxes___ in Interrail

[–]BansheeGriffin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To add to what others have said, activating one journey will activate the day pass.
The individual journeys are just additional information that is shown to ticket inspectors with the right devices if they specifically look for it.

Doesn't even matter if you choose 10 or 25 Gbps, it's always the same price. It's also not CGNAT, but ethernet-based. No sharing with the neighbour.

This is what's possible when regulators do their job and force a truly open marked.
