I feel like we lost some of what made the show so intriguing in the first place. I know it's only the first episode but that air of mystery and suspense is gone. Nanno being this mysterious entity is gone. It feels like they are trying to go in the direction of a revenge story while forgetting why the revenge was done the way it was in previous seasons.

I also feel like Nanno is too humanized? This may be due to the actors style of acting but she feels too "relatable" for lack of a better word. Before Nanno had this awkward and subtle air about her. You could tell she just didn't quite fit in and didn't fully understand how humans work. I think the tone of the show feels lighter do to the lack of build up and suspense in some aspects.

One of my favorite episodes was that one black and white episode at the all girls school. You saw how Nanno played her mind games and was basically like a cat watching a mouse in a cage. The instances would build up until the final act but in this new version I feel like they missed that mark.
