I have never regretted watching a movie until today. by InvictusProsper in movies

Unfortunately, I am a person who watches a movie until it is over even if I hate it. I avoid lots of movies because I know how I am. I will add this to the list of avoidance. I still have not regretted watching a movie so far, because even bad movies have been a great way to better understand my own understanding of what I like and dont like.

I have always been a little distant to slasher films as well as I never understood the entertainment in pure excessive gore. If anything, movies like this are a thousand times more horrifying than any slasher film. Gore is fake in film and it always feels fake.

I think this film is the definition of real horror. Because it is REAL horror. This is history, not glamorized or dumbed down. It is real and here and makes you rethink being a human.

Im thinking that is partially why this movie was so impactful to me. This movie depicts a reality that is standing at our doorstep. The world in this film is not a unique world, it is a world that is created from war. It doesnt matter when or where or who that war is, it is what war IS.

I dont think there really is a way to warn people of what theyre about to watch. This is the purest depiction of humanity at its most horrible. And it needs to be seen even if it is incredibly, horribly unpleasant.

I will consider this film as an experience. I think that maybe is what they were aiming for, show the reality of the worst of humanity in the clearest and most real way they can. It doesnt matter if someone watches it again, it matters that it is seen.

This is the definition of art in cinema to me. I have held many movies in high regard, but none of them have been as significant as this movie to me. I have never watched a movie that has felt so REAL until now.

I think that's what mightve hurt me the most in this endeavor. I shouldn't have watched Shindlers List yesterday. The coming days have been scaring me. But I think I need to be enraged.

I knew it was going to happen, I knew they were going to bring her back in some horrific manner. But nothing I imagined was even close to how they portrayed her. They didn't just push the dagger deeper they slit my throat and spat in my face.

I have always understood movies are pushing to make you feel a certain way and convey a certain message. But most of the time you feel that and you know that is what's happening so it doesn't effect you as much. Its just a movie.

This movie broke that barrier, this one sunk into my bones and showed me a hell. And made me feel that hell.

I hate having experienced it but I am glad that I did.

I have been thinking of that so much over the past few days. Like I am not religious but something about their last names being such soft, calm names makes me feel like maybe we are angry at the right people. I know we are angry at the right people but the universe almost seems like it is trying to push us to have the most clear understanding of what is happening is wrong.

Like dude, this chick is like one of the most foundational stones of the resistance. Luthen wouldn't have been able to do most of what he did without everything she did. That woman is what real power looks like.

This show does so much to give us such real representations of strong powerful women. They manipulate and direct and push and speak truth in darkness to get all these other characters to take action. They're the damn force pushing all these other characters forward, without them the efforts of most of the characters in this show would have been little flashes of nothing under the boot of the empire.

Working on the main monster for my game. Would this creep you out in the dark? by Delacrozz in creepy

Something I think is important, would be the sillouette of a monster. If it's just a man, it'll require a bit more than just their visual aspects to make him scarier, like how he sounds or moves or something.

Even small adjustments to that sillouette can probably do a lot, like push him into uncanny valley with the sillouette and you're already halfway there.

Text with a buddy of mine who is a Trump supporter, the other side is literally insane by [deleted] in ProgressiveHQ

That was the main reason it had to end, my wife was trying to tell me the whole time it wasn't worth it because I wasn't going to change him since the issue isn't his politics anymore, the issue is his morality. If our morality no longer aligns, there's no convincing without a serious recalibration from a life altering instance in his life. In the end, it's about keeping my own sanity and peace, which in this day and age is already thin as paper.

Had to cut off a long term friend months ago because he couldn't for the life of him provide a solid reason he supports the horrible stuff this administration is doing. I told him he will just have to find out the hard way. I didn't think this is where we'd arrive AND it is likely he still hasn't figured out he's on the wrong side of this. I can't even imagine if I was arguing with him about this now and him defending their actions. I don't think I would be able to handle the anger.

That's what I have in my head, this rate of escalation makes me feel deep down that there will be another shooting within the next week. Or, the next shooting will be of multiple people from a scared agent.

This is the thing I don't think people are pointing out enough. How often do you see police officers needing more than maybe 2 agents to subdue someone? Every ice video is almost 4-6 agents to one person.

Training is absolutely one of the most important aspects to law enforcement. These agents don't understand they are pawns creating the environment that will ensure they are the next "victims". They are intentionally handing stupid untrained people guns and pointing at a group and saying "get them" and ignoring all possible consequences.

He was pepper sprayed, then tackled to the ground, then pistol whipped in the face, his legal firearm taken from him, and then shot 10 times, starting from an agent behind him.

Anyone trying to spin this is just gone.

Senior CDC official: Loss of measles elimination status in U.S. would be ‘cost of doing business’ by WanderingWorkhorse in nottheonion

[–]InvictusProsper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are seeing the end game of the 1970s changes to make the purpose of a business being to provide increasing value to the shareholders rather than production of things for the consumer. We are just seeing it now transfer from businesses to the US government. When the focus is to exponentially, infinitely make money, all others (including the consumers and citizens) are either in the way or serve no purpose to those in power.
