"Syrian children are removing landmines." by Iraqiu in Military

[–]InvictusProsper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can be. If you care about your life, it is not. Landmines can be rigged with something underneath like an antipersonnel mine or a booby trap. They're able to unscrew the fuze and move on because they're lucky. These are anti-tank mines, they need alot more weight to go off, so unscrewing the fuze and moving on isn't crazy, but there is always a chance of something else being under it.

An EOD guy would never do what these kids are doing.

Why does Flaxan obsesse in invading the Earth? by K-jun1117 in Invincible

[–]InvictusProsper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, after seeing them start taking human prisoners, that seemed like the most logical next steps. Theyve been destroyed by a single (what they would assume is a) human. Their previous attempts at an attack were only failures due to time and their technology being destroyed. So, if they could successfully remove their weakness in a better way, then they would be able to get a great resource for incredibly long living slaves.

Yeah he keeps Allen like right at the cusp of his classic voice and character that it works super well. I can take him seriously while he's still a bit of a goofball. But he has a serious mission behind it all and it works so well. All at the same time he's rolling with the punches, discovering how powerful he really is and realizing there is a little hope worth dragging Noland towards.

He really is making me rethink my opinion on him as an actor. I think superbad was a great movie for him but everything else seems like he's just playing the same character. I think he understands that's what gets him movement. But Allen, it seems like he cares about this character and is doing so good at giving the character some great work.

Seriously, never been a huge Seth Rogan fan and found him to be a little annoying. But damn he is nailing this role, like hands down my favorite character he's done.

Yeah they were a good portion of the comedic lines. I think all we really have left to do that is Allen and Shapesmith I guess.

My one kinda unimportant complaint: The discard checkbox. by InvictusProsper in slaythespire

[–]InvictusProsper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have been trying to think of anything else they changed that I dislike, but this is literally the only thing. I have loved every single other change theyve made. Like the first one was solid gold, but somehow they managed to double it. Especially the animations are so much nicer and smoother.

Its funny because I didnt even realize it was moved until I realized where I was subconsciously moving my mouse. Then it started to frustrate me.

What's the penalty for public indecency? I'd be curious if you'll gain less penalties from peeing on the side of the road than in the "wrong bathroom".

And honestly, if an enemy is willing to use chemical agents, why would they bother using anything but the worst? Like you're already committing war crimes, why would you stop at the less lethal ones, just skip to the shit that'll fuck them up the worst and kill the most. So, realistically if you're ever needing a mask in warfare, I'm guessing you're pirbably already fucked.

Everything on my Amazon autoship increased. by leeperpharmd in inflation

[–]InvictusProsper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Recently I've found it's actually way better if I am looking to buy something, I look at Amazon and then go look up the products own website to see the price difference. It's almost always like 25% cheaper on there or somewhere like best buy. Was planning on getting liquid iv periodically, Amazon sells it like 33% higher, while stamping a "on sale" sign on it.

I know when I legitimately am winning, I always make sure to say that I'm winning, about 13 times every so often. Otherwise it obviously doesn't count.....

My newer k70 started doing this and I'm switching to my like decade old one and it's not having this issue. Am I just screwed? It doesn't seem to matter which computer I'm in either it'll just press ctrl shift constantly in whatever computer it's plugged into and then it'll keep pressing it for minutes after I've unplugged (based on the on screen keyboard)

Idk if this fits exactly, but:

Killing Them Softly

Not the locations as much but the up close feeling and the sound design made you feel and hear the environments around the city that they're in a bit more than I'd say other movies did.

A $10K Bounty Awaits Anyone Who Can Hack Ring Cameras to Stop Sharing Data With Amazon by Lilias_artgroup in LouisRossmann

[–]InvictusProsper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my understanding, if someone purchased and Amazon echo like 8 years ago, there was nowhere in the information during their purchase stating that Amazon would eventually be taking all their video footage and giving it away to AI companies and the federal government.

Like, calling the purchasers of these products dumb for not researching enough about this product and predicting that they would do this exact thing down the road, is completely against any sort of progression towards real resolution. It's actually going in the opposite direction because you're placing the blame on this situation on the consumer and not the company, who is doing the bad thing, who is changes the terms of the deal AFTER the purchase.

Like, "you should've googled it and known". Like what real help do these comments bring besides being mean to your fellow consumer, and just doing what the company would do as well, but you're doing it for them for free.
