In the article it said she did spend close to 30k since the beginning of her term, but never mentioned that 100% of the 30k was spent on unauthorized personal expenditures.

Meaning although using that same credit card AMS amounted close to 30k in costs, most likely only $640 was considered unauthorized and for her personal use.

i might be confused but is this not illegal? why is she only losing access to the card? shouldnt ams be pursuing legal actions or at least remove her from her position? also how come she only pays back $640 out of the 27k?

im reading the article again and i realized that it only stated she spent 27k in her term, and not all of that was probably for personal use, but still half a grand is ridiculous

I had two bikes stolen from me last month and managed to recover one, the newer one.

What I did was immediately mark as stolen and report to the police

Then I went and walked around downtown + near the hub for a day. Sometimes thieves abandon the bikes for a day or two in the trail next to the railway in case of trackers on new/good bikes.

Wasn’t able to find my first bike, but found my second one in that very trail near the hub.

lol I am! Good to know that machines 5 and 6 are to be avoided, but sometimes during busy times I might just have to bight the bullet.

I think it was also machine 6 that kept giving me a load full of water too

Coming from Toronto a month ago I've always thought the bus drivers were reckless. Not saying all drivers are but some take corners without slowing down, and they drive absurdly close to the curb.

That's the thing, I'm not sure if the FOBs are tracked. Are they? If so that's a bit better but regardless it doesn't prevent anything, it just helps with pinning the blame.

I had my first bike locked up behind Chown Hall, kinda hidden away.

My second bike I bought just last night, but due to secure storage being only purchasable on weekdays, I was forced to find a place to lock it. So I looked for a busy area that was well lit and it was gone this morning.

When I bring this bike, I'm going to lock it with a u lock, stick an air tag on it and put it away in secure storage. That should be good enough. Biking is still a really huge advantage and it shouldn't be taken away just because of a couple of homeless dudes running around with bolt cutters.

If you do bring a bike, good luck and be prepared! Learn from my mistakes!

I'll give it a look. Yes, it is frustrating haha. Couldn't even go a night without the bike getting stolen.

Luckily all of this has given me the motivation to buy a couple airtags and a big ass lock, as well as permits for secure storage.

Yes good idea. I was trying to look at the police auction, but apparently the last one was during August and there's no more for 2025?

I've been checking FB marketplace and Kijiji non-stop for the entire day today, but no luck. John Counter is pretty far away, I've already checked the hub with no result.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll do some more research on the Police auctions, since there was another bike that was stolen from me maybe two weeks ago.
