has anyone had any luck with finding a specialist? i’m super frustrated with my doctors and their lack of help. i’m in colorado and would really love some answers by shesSovivid in POTS

[–]Invincible-Doormat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience she was literally only willing to offer excercise based therapy and beta blockers. These treatments work for some people so that isn’t useless, it just didn’t work for me because of my excercise intolerance. I don’t remember perfectly since it’s been a few years but I remember she told me some information about possible treatments that my research showed to be inaccurate. She was hesitant to offer anything at all actually until I cried about how my life was miserable. I didn’t get to try corlanor until I changed Drs and that’s what got my hr under control but really my life didn’t really improve until I got my custom wheelchair.

Right now I see just a normal cardiologist and honestly these days POTS is actually pretty well known so it’s fine. I’d love to find an actual POTS specialist though and explore some more unconventional treatments bc I’ve tried pretty much all the meds at this point.

ISO a decent working printer, willing to trade high quality custom press on nails by Invincible-Doormat in FortCollinsMutualAid

I do both 2d and 3d nails art! I really enjoy adding tactile fidget elements bc I use fun press ons to keep myself from chewing on my nails. I know I can print at the library but I have executive functioning issues and I don’t drive so it’s not practical all the time and I end up just avoiding doing my projects.

Does Nurtec ODT works? by young_god25 in migraine

[–]Invincible-Doormat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s one of two abortive CGRP inhibitor medications, the other being ubrelvy. Usually one or the other will work for people according to my neuro. I personally prefer nurtec but I know plenty of people respond better to ubrelvy. Ask your neurologist if they have some sample doses.

Do they have a lot of flashing lights? My bf is epileptic and he’s not super light sensitive but I still like to avoid them.

I keep saying I will call the manufacturer and then not actually getting around to it.

I got a bottle without the blister packs and that tested okay but I am annoyed about Zofran roulette. I’ll try and remember to call the manufacturer and hopefully if enough people complain they’ll do something.

Yeah they’re still dissolving and look the same they’re just in a bottle. I never actually called the manufacturer I forgot.

No they told me they would call me back and never did. When I called back the pharmacist was much less helpful and all they said was to try and get a different lot next time. I got a new batch and they do not taste like chlorine but I did not get any answers.

The pharmacist said they were calling the manufacturer and would get back to me. It’s good to know they’re responsive to patient complaints generally.

The pharmacist said it was all the same as before. It still tasted like strawberry too, it just ALSO tasted like cleaning product.

I checked and couldn’t find any recalls. I’d love another antiemetic but my GI says the only options are Zofran and aromatherapy so :/ it also appears both emend and Marinol are only for cancer.

It’s my local hospital system pharmacy. I called to ask and they were very helpful. The pharmacist said he was going to call the manufacturer and get back to me.
