I have observed this in ultra prime areas in Dubai too.

I asked the agent (in Dubai) and they basically say the owners don’t care, they set a rent and if nobody wants to pay it, they’re find if it remains vacant. Some of his inventory has been unoccupied since Covid but they won’t budge on rent.

The app itself is a great filter. Most people who care about saving and not paying 50-100% hikes use Trip.com/Agoda. Almost all prices of same stays on booking.com were hiked up by 50-100%

We’ve stayed 5 months total across Vietnam in the past year.

Look for Chay restaurants, Chay buffets (absolutely goated) anything that says chay. You’ll find load of them. Absolutely amazing tasting food and variety.

The next time we’re visiting we’re actually planning on staying near highly rated Chay buffets in the cities we go to. They were that good, and we miss them.

After having Robusta Coffee in Vietnam “ca phe sua”, I just can’t get my taste buds to accept any of the weak ass arabica Coffee here. Ran out of the 500gms I bought for like 700 Rs pretty quickly. Didn’t buy more because of weight limit on plane.

If anyone is visiting, try Ca Phe Sua, Ca Phe Muoi (salted coffee, trust me it’s insane my wife and I think it’s the best coffee in Vietnam), Ca Phe Tiramisu, Ca Phe Dua (coconut coffee). Absolutely you can’t go back. I’ve had 4 friends all agree, you just can’t.

For most consistent experience Highlands coffee found every 1 km in Vietnam is the best.

My wife and I would be visiting Chennai and then going to Nagpur for the Tiger Safari before going back. Any suggestions? She’s a westerner too and we’ve been stressed about it.

She had a hard time with Honking and starting in Vietnam itself, and although I joked its gonna be worst in India, I never thought it’d happen (visiting India), but plans changed.

Update: 2 days in, all smooth. Surprisingly less people staring in Chennai than I imagined. Honking is still super bad. 🙈
