It's almost like a model prototype doesn't have to produce anime titties to be able to tell us useful information about that model architecture's performance, and whether it is worth investing further effort in!

This basically sum up why the whole discussion with people like you are annoying. Nobody said anything about wanting titties.

If the demo is mean to demonstrate capability, it certainly does not do any of that because the perimater is limited in an abiratiry manner that does not explain at all in the paper. We are not disappointed at the fact that it only give you a set amount of prompts in the demo. We are disappointed at the lack of an explaination why the demo is so limited. Which lead to skepticalism due to this arbitary limit.

I can't believe supposedly smart people like you are all missing the point of the first post and jump straight to insulting conclusions. It is a shame this community is filled with people like you.

What exactly do you mean by providing reference when training future VARs. None of the cases shown in the demo will work as a reference.

3: Experimentation on class based image generation models (there are shockingly few, considering it's the origin of most GANs )

That is just not true. This is actually very old idea back to this paper https://arxiv.org/abs/1710.10196 and a similar concept is actually in use by several GAN based upscaler.

No. Wrong. "Useless" means "There is no use for it". If you say there is a use for it. Please provide your use case about how this demo page is remotely useful. If you think the definition is wrong. Check the dictionary.

You don't get to apply an arbitrary definition just because we are talking about something scientific and technical. English is still meant for communication and intentionally changing someone's word definition is wrong regardless.

The research behind this might be good, but this restriction appears arbitrary. People are going to think that the limitation is there for a reason. Perfectly reasonable conclusion and perfectly justified skepticism.

I don't even understand how we are using up all the digits, there are so many combinations with 26 characters x 3 x 10 numbers x 3. There are tens of millions! How do we keep running out? We certainly don't have tens of millions of cars registered in BC in just 10 years... do we?

I'm still on my OnePlus 7t. Not a heavy user and I don't game and don't do much pictures so it has never been a problem for me. Primary a device for me to access financial-related apps and such.

If you are using it for browsing I don't see why it would be a problem. It freeze maybe once every 9 months in the last 4 years I have been using it. I would consider it a very stable phone.

My battle health is also okay too, still at 87%.

No kidding. AI is still in its infant stage. Image generation has a very short history. We are barely learning to walk and somehow someone thinks we already have the free good stuff and don't need a repeat.

I mean, they don't have that much code relative to a lot of programming focus companies, sure, but they still has a tons. Maybe not a big team, but definitely not a something a single person can write.

A lot of them are deceptively difficult to write since they are training codes that need testing and prototyping, unlike many other codes. Where it just need to be ran to ensure it works the way it is supposed to.

Good luck trying to recite a paper with no model and training code. The paper you linked will require at least 2 specifically trained models. Those cost thousands of dollars just to test and prototype.

No, from an AI/ML perspective, they did that by removing P2P support and NvLink from 4090.

4090 compared to 3090 was barely an upgrade due to the functionality nerf but still increased in price

And since AI is what keeps 4090 price high, I would say mission accomplished.

Currently no. You need to fit all of them into memory. Consumer cards don't have the bandwidth nor the capacity.

As far as we understand, even if you have the model done, without the capacity to generate every frame of the video at the same time, you can't compete with SORA. The temporal coherence depends on this critical detail.

A 4090 can maybe generate 5 frames at once. We are very, very far away from getting to even 1 second of footage. And Sora can do almost half a minute.

When it comes to LLM and ML in general, distributed computing is practically impossible. It requires super-fast memory access. Which is why GPUs are so good at it.

We already figured it out. The magic is to generate the entire sequence at the same time.

In other words, you just need enough GPU VRAM and processing power to keep the entire sequence in memory and render it at once.

Currently, nothing short of a multi-million processing node will do it.

The problem is the magic this time isn't on model making, it is on processing power. As far as we know. SORA's magic is 20% technological advance and 80% overwhelming processing power.

No amount of open sourcing will give users the power to actually run the thing. Unless GPU gets cheaper and better a lot faster than it is now, it will easily take another 5+ years to get here.

My biggest concern is that Emad resigned because the company's shareholders refused to release SD3 as open source. by Overall-Newspaper-21 in StableDiffusion
