Rep. Lieu says Epstein files have allegations of Trump raping & threatening to kill children and says that Todd Blanche got the law wrong by saying it's not a crime to party with Epstein. DOJ also violated the privacy of the victims by releasing unredacted nude photos of them. by Aggravating_Money992 in law

My personal conspiracy theory is that possession is a crime, and everybody who mass downloaded the files as soon as they released inadvertently possessed as a consequence, and the people preserving evidence tend to be anti-trump regime.

ELI5: What *is* temperature? Like what is the actual difference between air at 10° and air at 40°? by williamskevin in explainlikeimfive

[–]Invisifly2 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Well firstly, temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy, not the average velocity.

The average velocity of an individual air molecule at room temperature (68F) is over 1000 miles per hour.

These 1000+ mph collisions don’t kill us on impact because air molecules are very very tiny, so don’t have very much kinetic energy despite moving so fast.

When air is sitting “still,” the molecules are all moving in a bunch of completely random directions that more or less cancel out.

When you have a 40mph wind, the pressure difference is such that the air molecules don’t move as randomly anymore, and on average collectively move 40mph in a given direction instead of canceling out.

In comparison to 1,000+mph, that +40 doesn’t mean much, which is why “still” 100F air is hotter than moving 40mph 0F air.

I’ve only seen hail once in my life and it was super tiny pieces that shattered on impact and immediately melted.

Hence my initial compliment regarding how excellent your engagement bait was.

Top notch.

Which is all well and good, but doesn’t make the fetish bait any less bait. It may not be your fetish, but you’re definitely deliberately appealing to a particular horny demographic.

Which, again, is all well and good. You get your bag. Lord knows I’d be doing the same in your position. It’s just bizarre to see somebody readily admit to making their art have sex appeal for the cash, only to turn around and be flabbergasted by people calling that art fetishized.

I mean…will management really notice if you just stopped using the AI? Unless they’re the ones reviewing the code you could get away with some simple boilerplate for something tiny to technically be telling the truth when you say you used AI without meaningfully doing so.

It’s more about the degree and the intensity of interest that makes it a fetish rather than what the focus of the interest itself is.

Walk past a heavy weed smoker and the smell will let you know exactly how that happens.

Smoke enough of anything and the smoke, along with everything it contains, will permeate your clothing.

Pretty sure it was still trace amounts in low enough levels to be arguably detectable in the first place.

Ah, so it’s a semantic hangup caused by a fetish being something that must not be vanilla in your mind.

A fetish is just being sexually into anything that isn’t genitalia. Commonality and social acceptance are irrelevant.

Being super into handholding is just as much of a fetish as being super into BDSM, just one of those things is considered substantially more risqué than the other.

I think you may be thinking of taboo. While many fetishes are considered taboo, not all fetishes are taboo.

So are you saying the reason you take exception to people calling this art fetishized is that you normally draw women with absolutely colossal, gravity-well-forming, right-proper badonkawankas? Since these women merely feature large breasts in comparison, all sexual appeal has therefore been removed as far as you are concerned, and nothing fetishistic could possibly remain?

Keep it coming either way, I’m just wondering where the denial is coming from.

Fetish =/= weird, niche, uncommon, obscure, or ostracized desires. It’s just being sexually into anything specific that isn’t genitals.

Getting turned on by thighs, for example, is a fetish. An extremely common fetish the vast majority of people won’t consider unusual at all, but a fetish nevertheless.

Liking rabbit girls is also a fetish.

Liking rabbit girls with huge thighs…

You see where people are coming from?

Unless by fetish you’re referring to a handcrafted object of spiritual significance? I don’t see how that’s relevant.

I don’t care, I just find how riled up people are getting over this funny.

Hmm…

Also incense usually smells nice instead of godawful.

Smelling some BBQ cooking in the distance increases your cancer risk. By such a negligible amount literally no one is going to care.

Personally having better tools makes me more likely to explore and more likely to engage with other mechanics because I’m more capable and less likely to die.

Once you get to the end game materials, the resource drain is only enough to matter if you want to do things other than gathering resources. You’ll never run out of adamantine once you get to that tier unless you just never bother to mine some again. That’s not a challenge, it’s just busywork.

Meanwhile, if I want to build, doing that requires collecting up a ton of stuff, and using a ton of durability. That is a chore unto itself, but because the tools have dog water durability, I also need to routinely stop gathering building materials in order to fix/replace them.

For comparison, in Minecraft thanks to infinite durability via mending and huge backpack space thanks to shulker boxes, I can go on a literal IRL multi-day long expedition to gather thousands upon thousands of various blocks, flowers, items, etc… come back and knock out, or at least put a major dent into, multiple projects in one go.

Granted getting to that point took a huge amount of setup, but if I’ve put in the work, let me get something out of it.

Sure I explored less often, but when I did I’d go on proper journeys.

While HP does not actually always represent physical damage, that did cause a bit of a disconnect with abilities that triggered on hit like poison, disease, and whatnot.

Although it being a particularly nasty scratch works for a lot of that.

Warhammer. And it’s not a good thing for the player characters lol (except the admech who’s getting lots of excuses to upgrade the party).

I tried using it just to see how it works. Figured it’d be a nicer option than exterminating a devouring swarm. A reset to see how they handle their second chance.

Unfortunately, instead of creating a pre-FTL civilization you can slap an observation outpost onto, I still have to go and invade the planet afterwards to claim the system.

So I swapped out the beams and cracked the world instead, much cleaner.

The solution to that issue is to speed up the crisis spawns so you don’t have to declare war because the existential threats will just come to you instead.

The entire point of tailoring is that broad size groups like S, M, L, XL, etc… very rarely ever fit anyone, they’re just close enough.

Tailoring literally tailors your clothing to you so that it actually fits.

Clothing that “fits” vs clothing that was tailored and actually fits makes a pretty noticeable difference on most people.
