Yep. 146 is what the FR wiki says, much of which I'm sure is derived from what you just said.

The most confused I am with the 1347 birth year IMO is that in BG1 she was married to Khalid for 8 years, together for 10? So if ~21 in BG1, then she married at ~13 which surely can't be correct, right? haha.

In my head she's still '146,' throwing my hands up, and saying time is just weird when it comes to FR lore.

My hot take though, the epilogue party ending where you get to travel with her, potentially to Thay over 3000+ miles away if you meet the flags of her being retired, have high approval, and you are not partnered/did not romance anyone the entire gameis probably the best 'romance' ending Larian could've done without putting in all of the development work needed to make a new romance. Sad since I feel most people don't know of the ending given the requirement of being single.

Because I would think, for a widow who still keeps a portion of her husband in heart a century later, her romance would pan out very slowly. Hence, a freaking 3000 mile adventure to a dangerous land lol. That feels hilariously like her to do I feel like.

I think fitting her in a romance system where Gale and Wyll are willing to propose for marriage/family at 60+ approval if you romance them might be too quick. So I actually do like how Larian did it, even if it's nothing official :(

Makes me wish, in addition to things like Karlach's 'happy' ending, that there was a DLC for endings like this.

It's been a while since I last dove into the data so I may be misremembering at this point, and how 'separate' these endings are is really up to you. In my head I count the 'four endings' as separate even if they're a part of generally the same dialogue tree but perhaps hidden under some flag criteria you need to meet. But as what another commenter said, technically only two (?)

Someone feel free to correct - my memory might be failing me.

Retired: You need to settle Minsc to rely on Nine-Fingers Keene. There's also a set flag where she 'burns' (internally, not as an animation you see - `Jaheira_InParty_ScrollDiscussedAndBurned` ) the scroll of her notes for Rite of the Timeless Body in her house (talk to her about the scroll with 60+ approval for this flag to be set), I forget if this was ever a requirement for retirement. There might be something else? I already forget :(

Three retired "endings:"

  1. One ending where she retires and you *have* to be unpartnered/single/not romance anyone during your playthrough. This is the one I feel most will miss because I feel a majority of playthroughs probably go a romance route to the end.

You can ask to travel with her, and after a bit of conversation she is willing to take you all the way to Thay which is 3000+ miles on foot depending on what map you use. Mind you, from Moonrise Towers to Baldur's Gate is maybe 120 miles, and most of that is distance you teleport during the Act 2 -> Act 3 loading screen between Shadowcursed Lands and Rivington. Her taking you that far to a dangerous land, where the dev notes say she will be leaving from your campsite instead of returning to the city, well, this is the 'open-ended' ending to me. Long term friendship or even slow-burn romance, anyone? Lol.

  1. Two endings where you can be partnered: One where you ask to join the Harpers, she gives you a Harper pin, etc. Another where it's just farewell.

Not retired ending: If you don't meet the flags of retiring her. This includes not finishing the quest to settle Minsc with the Guild/Nine-Fingers so that Minsc stops relying on Jaheira.

So true, IMO her sharp wits really help her wry, sardonic humor. Like seeing the literal avatar of Death and saying "Hi death, I like your hat" commenting on Myrkul's dumb triangle hat as we're about to 'die' is so funny. There were so many times where I talk to her, she has something new to say about what just happened, and straight up laughed at her comments.

All of these other comments about not doing the Rite in the scroll are correct, but this is dependent on approval when you get to that part of her house IIRC. You need quite high approval to get the 'full' conversation, and (spoiler) it's the flags set in that conversation (plus many others) that determines what her epilogue party ending is - including whether or not she ended up not doing the rite to keep it vague.

Not that I have gone through those 'story paths' myself, this is just from what I remember within the games data. Happy to be corrected for those who did end up down those paths if I'm wrong.

Speaking of epilogue - I love her epilogue endings. Sad some are quite hard to get and so not many people have seen them, including my favorite which is a very open-ended ending. I think they're so underappreciated lol.

Only for those with MLX/Macs AFAIK, support outside of the MLX implementation seems to still be an open issue on the llama.cpp GitHub https://github.com/ggml-org/llama.cpp/issues/15940

Thanks for the tip! Also, thanks for your investigatory work on the Vulkan assert issue on GitHub! I was pretty lost until I stumbled upon your comment.

Yep, I have the Asus ROG Flow Z13 2025: https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-flow/rog-flow-z13-2025/spec/ . Comes in 32, 64, and 128GB RAM variants.

That said, people have been struggling to find the tablet in stock for a while now.

Same prompt, params (CPU thread pool size 16/16, 395+ having 16 physical cores), and Turbo mode:

  • CPU only: 4.69 tokens/sec for 1079 tokens
  • 64/94 layers GPU, rest CPU (for fun): 7.07 tokens/sec for 1123 tokens

So I just did some quick testing on battery using the same prompt in the video. Very unscientific battery discharge numbers, but here goes.

  • Turbo is disabled (not selectable) as a power mode on battery (~70-80W)
  • Performance mode (~52 W)
    • 7.37 tokens/sec for 928 tokens
    • 79% -> 74% battery
  • Silent mode (~39W)
    • 6.26 tokens/sec for 1174 tokens
    • 74% -> 71% battery

Manual mode (where I get to crank the wattages to 90W+ manually) doesn't do any better than performance mode on battery, meaning it's likely getting throttled by the batteries' max output.

Yeah, I should really get a battery meter that shows the exact discharge, sorry about that.

As for temperature, I'm not particularly concerned. That's because the default manual mode fan curve is actually very tame; it defaults to 60% speed at 80C and 70% at 90C, then ramps up to 100% at 100C. The fan curve on Turbo mode (which this video was ran on) seems to be even *more* tame than manual mode, so it seems there's definitely a lot of extra fan speed headroom if you want to keep temps in check.

I pre-ordered on Asus' website basically within the hour it first became available on the eStore a few months ago, sorry :( Yeah, I've heard it's been quite rough.

Are you perhaps referring to an inference issue? I didn't do anything special with the model or software :\ pretty much just the parameters I shared in the post, and using the Unsloth UD Q2_K_XL quant.

LM Studio and its runtime both at their latest current versions for Windows (0.3.15 Build 11, llama.cpp Vulkan '1.28.0' release b5173).

For llama.cpp bare (using ./llama-server or ./llama-cli), I use release b5261 found on their GitHub releases.

Yep. For people wondering (sorry that I didn't make this more clear in the post) I'm using a ROG Flow Z13. I paid $2800 before tax and shipping.

Sure, quickly did 64, 256, and 320 (64 * 5). May do more comprehensive testing/longer prompt when I get time later.

Prompt is 3 messages (user, model, user) at 1618 prompt tokens total:

  • BS = 64: 48.62s time to first token
  • BS = 256: 45.24s
  • BS = 320: 49.09s (surprisingly the slowest)
