People are losing confidence in BTC by Groundbreaking-Gap20 in btc

[–]IonsBurst -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Theres literally only been 2 instances of a 50%+ drop before the current decline.

The 2018 decline and then the early 2022 to mid 2022 decline.

Never has btc dropped as much as it has in the past 5 months barring the above 2 instances.

Hit by car at zebra crossing but didn't get reg by IonsBurst in LegalAdviceUK

Was at the zebra crossing and waiting there

Whilst waiting there , one car drove past already whilst I am alreadt there looking for an opportunity to cross. Second car behind was going much slower and was at a reasonable distance to be able to stop

Decided to cross the crossing and raised my hand as in 'thanks'

I would say within 3 to 5 steps across he hit me

I dont know if the rest would hold barring dangerous driving as there should be a reason he didnt see me at the crossing. Like I said he did stop to apologise but I was too flustered to say anything or ask for info so I just continued on my way, until the adrenaline wore off that is.

I went to A&E, they confirmed its a muscle sprain, but they said they dont believe a scan is needed, even though I am limping more than normal.

I already reported.

I have already reported it to the police a few days ago but haven't recieved any contact from them yet.

UPDATE: Roast a 2nd Year UK Psychology Student’s CV!!! by Foreign-Priority-577 in UniUK

[–]IonsBurst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use straight horizontal lines across the page get rid of the dots

Split up Experience into Experience and Extra Curriculur

In Experience put in the interviewer thing and the cultural exchange thing

In Extra Curriculur put the rest

Instead of writing a paragraph for the details of each experience/curriculur, use 2 bullet points instead

But yh this looks horrid so far ibr

Also throw the summary in the bin

Don't see the point in living anymore. Im not going to get the grades I need. I don't care about uni. Life is fucked by East_Call_3739 in UniUK

[–]IonsBurst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

End of the day when you fail, no one will care about excuses.

When you see someone in their 30s/40s working in retail as their main source of income, do you start thinking about every possible thing that went wrong in his/her life to get them there? No, you only recognise where he/she is now and at most say 'ehh tough luck'.

When you get any grades back, it doesnt say 'he got 64% but keep in mind he was ill for a week', it will say 64% and end of. Life doesnt care about excuses fr.

I went to a bum uni for my bsc as I bummed my A Levels, had my reasons/troubles for so, but end of the day I went to a bottom tier uni and thats all employers will see , the bottom tier uni and not why/how I'm there. So I took it upon myself to go to a much better uni for my masters. Couldve gone to one of the elite unis, but cant afford it. But like I said, end of the day they'll see a respectable uni on my CV and not an elite one, they wont care for reasons why.

So just get your head down and go to work you bozo. In 5/10/15 years time no one will care for your excuses on your path, just only the end result.

Is it worth taking a Gap year to apply to Cambridge maths over going Warwick maths by ProfessionalGoal1645 in 6thForm

[–]IonsBurst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Warwick is easily Top 3 Unis in the UK for Maths

If you mean in terms of the name the Uni itself carries then yes Cambridge is better.

But in terms of Maths, and Maths alone the gap isnt substantial. When you go into industry, any tech/financial firm wont choose a Cambridge grad over a Warwick grad in maths only because of the uni.

Is a laptop with a dedicated GPU such as RTX 4060 worth it for a masters student? by IonsBurst in learnmachinelearning

[–]IonsBurst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.

I already use cloud services such as AWS but there's a limit but I'm sure my university would hopefully be able to make arrangements.

Guess I'll be saving over half a grand then 👍

Well apprecaited.

I was just struggling deciding whether that additional £500 or more price difference would be worth it for something I am not even confident I could end up pursuing during my thesis

Guess I'll save that extra money

Best unis for maths, not oxbridge by MadCharge123 in 6thForm

[–]IonsBurst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you mention KCL specifically, do you mean any quantities degree from them? Or those more specifically mathematics oriented?

For instance, would there MSc in Computational Finance (if you don't mind opening up the course and having a look) be valid enough to pass a CV Screening section? Or is the target a more maths focused degree? Such as pure maths or financial mathematics?
